LMAO at this thread!!!

Tonight will be my first SL game (it is still webcast right? Thought it was sposed to be on NBATV?), but it sounds like DJ is scoring well. Don't know if anyone actually watched DJ this year, but he played off guard and a lot of times was the go to scorer...of course he's going to have that mentality somewhat.

We're a better ball club when the PG can score. That's a GOOD thing! He'll be able to come in and right off the bat the opposing guard can't cheat. Who gives a flip about assists in SL, we know he is a great passer just like we know Felts is a good distributor (and unlike some I'm fine with Felts being our starting PG...even his worst detractors will admit he's around average at the 1 in the league...which means there's a lot of teams who don't have better, all while under crap coaches).

Larry Brown was our great acquisition this year and both PGs WILL play pass first...else they won't play. All this angst in these practice games where most won't even be in the NBA in a couple weeks is nothing but knee jerk.

Why thanks Fats...good to be back. And yeah...I was down at the beach with NO internet connection. Like living in the Stone Age.

Doc, yeah I'd have liked to have seen him. I did get to see a marathon the other weekend on ESPNU however that showed like 3 of Texas' games from last season. That's also where I realized Barnes played DJ as an off guard so much (which I thought was pretty stupid...even near the end of the season you could see the kid wasn't all that comfortable). His shot does make him a viable threat at the 2, and offensively I could see him logging some time there with us. From a defensive POV tho I hope it's not too much.

Probably a better sample of what he can really do vs. SL anyway. The kid has skills. Still a little raw and not without weaknesses; main thing fans should realize is that he's going to need some patience.

i would be perfectly happy if dj only played about 15mpg next season in strictly a backup role, nothing more. rookies need time. we rushed felton and we rushed ammo. hopefully we dont rush dj.

Hopefully we don't rush dj? For the sake of the team, I agree. Not rushing DJ means we're doing well without him logging big minutes and we're not in talent evaluation mode. For DJ's sake though, getting thrown into the fire will only be beneficial long term.
