I thought they liked Marcus. He was suppose to be Rondo's counter-part on the Nets for years to come. Harris obviously is the better PG and young himself... but I didn't think that mean they'd just trade for a vet and trade Marcus.

What's going on? Do they not want to take the chance to re-sign him or does Marcus make a lot of boneheaded plays that the team doesn't want to develop him?

As for Dooling, damn that's one more PG off the free agent list. He'll be an intresting guy to have around. An answer defensively so to speak that not many teams have for Andre Miller's, Billups, Areneas's at the PG spot.

We haven't had one reliable veteran backup at either PG and SG . Dooling can do exactly that .

Doesn't neccessarly mean Marcus is done in NJ .

Ager , Swift and Hassel are hopefully done though.

nets should just fully rebuild instaed of signing medcore veterans and keepin carter

i could see if they were trying to win now but theyre not so all there doing is trying win maybe in the low 30's instead of 20's is there really any positives to that?

its just gonna give thme a lower pick

Unless you're really really really lucky to just suck for years and hope for picks to save you is not the solution. You try to establish the young players you already have with the help of some of your veterans and then try to win with that core.

Of course if you get a high pick you take it but just counting on draft picks is like russian roulette.

Haha I don't know what the Nets are doing anymore =D!

Also it should be noted that one reason why RJ was moved is that he was becoming a negative influence in the locker room and his attitude was really starting to draft the team down. Don't get me wrong RJ is still one of my favorite Nets players of all time and I think a big part of his "attitude problem" last year was because the team was struggling and he was tired of being overshadowed by others but still...

but the nets arent gonna win with there current team..all there gonna do is win in the low to mid 30's instead of in the 20's and in the nba thats bad because mediocre is the worst place u can be in the nba

not good enough to win but nto bad enough to get a high pick and impact player in the draft

plus we all know its about 2010 with them thats no secret..

might as well fully rebuild get two high picks in a row then by 2010 youll have plenty of young talent plsu the cap flexibility a great place to be in

Look this is a very young team besides Carter and the new veterans ( who aren't signed for all that much and all that long ) if they do well in these two year they are way more attractive to a major FA then they would be if they really really suck .

No major FA will sign with a with a bad team like that. We have have enough flexibility and assets to make a move in 2010 on somebody. If we do well in these two year we're more looking more attractive to a major FA that is looking to win. Mediocre team + major FA could very well equal good team, really bad team + FA = ??? .

And no a high Pick is not going to change that because young players need a while to make a major impact in the league unless they're a talent like Lebron or Paul and to get somebody like that is an extreme longshot.
