He wouldn't leave the nba for 3 mill/yr. I'm sure Toronto or Detroit would have given him a 3 year 10 million deal.

3 mio € net is a lot more than 3 mio $ gross. It is basically 4.75 mio $ versus 1,5 mio $ per year. That is a huge difference. Plus the car, flat and so on...

He makes more than Manu does. Manu $9,900,000 and Delfino $10,000,000.

I have a question. Suppose Lebron in 2010 decided to go to Europe and play? How much would he get per year? 100 million?

Dominique Wilkins I think was 37 when he went to Greece and signed with Panathinaikos. He made back then in Greek money what would be equal to 3.5 million euros NET base salary and 1.5 million euros NET in bonuses like sports cars, Mediterranean villa on the coast, yacht, his kids had their entire college education paid by the team, etc.

So he made equal to 5 million euros NET salary in 1996. If you change that to US dollars that is $8 million US dollars NET. Now you have to inflate that salary from 1996 times to 2008 times.

in 2008 dollars now you have $11 million NET salary.

Now you have to figure what an $11 million net salary is equal to in the NBA because in the NBA salaries are GROSS. not net. I won't figure state taxes because they vary and some states don't pay taxes. So even though Lebron is paying them to Ohio you can't judge that for his next contract.

But at the federal level an NBA max contract would be taxed at 35% and also $11 million net would be an NBA max contract.

So $11 million NET salary in Europe is = $17 million gross salary in NBA.

So, Dominque was making back in 1996 what equates to in today's money a $17 million per year NBA gross salary. Now the thing is Panathinaikos wanted him to sign a 5 year deal at the same amount each year. So he was offered back in 1996 what would be equal to 5 years and $85 million by a Greek team.

Now try to figure this. Today a team like Panathinaikos pays a lot more in salaries than back then, they would have a lot more than those days allocated for a budget. And the last thing to remember was that Dominique got this at age 37.

So I can imagine if 12 years ago a 37 year old Dominique could get an offer that today would be the same as a 5 year $85 million gross contract offer from Panathinaikos.......then I would say that 5 years $150 million gross is about what they would pay Lebron if they thought they could get him.

3 years $30 million for Delfino is what he is signing for. Wow but hey the NBA team the Spurs were offering $4 million.

Oh. So they're just stupider than NBA Owners. I get it now.

I think this is pretty much accurate.
