Germany and China's a tossup to me, if it were anywhere else I'd take Germany but I could see China getting a little homecooking.

I think China might get lucky enough and come through on their home turf.. just a hunch i guess.

Games i am looking forward to :

Lithuania vs Argentina
United States vs Greece in a revenge match from 2006
USA vs Spain
Spain vs Greece replay of worlds final in 2006.

Yao needs to drop at least 40 against Germany for China to even have a chance of moving out of this group.

I wouldn't. If you advance from group B, you can't face USA in the quarterfinals. And if you make it to semifinals and have a bit of luck, everything is possible.

China's guards are ridiculously god awful...Germany easily gets out of that group over them.

And Germany has enough good bigs to hold China's bigs to standstill.

I also think China can beat out Germany from their group. Only however if Yao is healthy. If Yao is healthy China on home floor should be better than Germany. Dirk and Kaman is nice and all but after that Germany is awful.

People are too harsh on China if they don't even think they could make that last spot over Germany on their home floor. Unless of course, Yao isn't healthy.

If Yao is healthy playing on his home floor he will find a way to upset someone and get through to the next round. Has everyone forgotten what he single handedly did to Serbia (the 2002 FIBA World Champions) in 2004 at Athens?

Dirk never won the Eurobasket. Germany was trashed in the finals by Greece in one of the worst championships I remember.

But yes, he was unbelieveable leading so little-talented teammates to the final.

Sorry, I thought the "almost" reffered to "singlehandedly" and not to "won".

Germany's guards aren't actually that bad. Certainly much better than China's.

Well they're currently getting roasted by summer league teams. So I would suggest not.
