I don't see him beating out a healthy Yao or D12 if you guys prefer to switch Yao and D12 go ahead in this scenario (I still think a healthy Yao is the best C in the league he gets huge points, boards, blocks, and bothers a ton of shots), I see AB17 more as #3, unless I'm missing somebody, but top 2 would be great, let's just get him healthy first.

if the starters keep their average up the bench doesn't have to do much at all, but in the most likely scenario i think the 3 front court players will have lower stats... the backcourt of kobe and fisher will stay around there.

Too much Bynum homerism going on here. The reason why Bynum was putting up some monster numbers was because he and Kobe were the de facto guy for Kobe to go to down low.

Next year, the offense will be run through Pau at the pinch post, which as we all know is the optimum triangle passing point (shaq was an outlier). With that being the case, the offense is going to be a lot more spread out.

Expect Kobe to get his 25, and Pau to get his 15, and let's say Odom becomes purely a slasher/playmaker and goes down to 12...

Well don't expect a steady 18 the entire season from Bynum. Maybe at his peak he'll be hitting 18 over a span of 20-30 games, but not the entire season. That's going to fluctuate.

I'd say 15 ppg by end of season MAX.


I mean, the way you guys are putting it, the starting 5 is good for 80-90 points a night. That's not really that realistic considering Phil gives the entire bench a solid 10-15 minutes every game no matter if we're down or up.

People keep talking about Kobe making Bynum's game easier, but does anyone ever think that Bynum also helped Kobe out by lessening the scoring load? Case in point, when the team played the Hornets on January we won by 29, Kobe only had to score 19. It's an extreme scenario, but Bynum was the player that balances out post and perimeter offense when he started to figure things out. Since Gasol arrived, the Lakers averaged close to 25 three point attempts. If Bynum wasn't injured, I believe Kobe would only average 20-23 points because he can always get stops, play pick'n'roll defense, rebounds the ball and shoot a high percentage despite being contested. With Gasol, I just don't see that happening even if he added more muscle.
