nope ... no way maybe a solid player one day but definitely not in the all star team with far better players ahead of him

Like Mitch said, its kinda pointless right now.

For the next batch of top centers (Oden, Bynum, Al, Hawes, Noah, Lopez, etc.) it is just far to early to tell what will happen. Injuries and major break outs can both happen. I think they need at least 2 more years, before we can truly say who will be the best centers, and who will be the 2nd/3rd/4th tier centers.

Who knows at this point in his career. He is still very young but
hopefully he'll be better than his dad (who wasn't all that bad).
He should have stayed in college and improved his game but with
all the money and the prospect of him being a bust I think he
made the correct decision.

I believed then and I still believe now that Paxson made a huge mistake not taking Hawes. Hawes in the east with Gorden, Hinerich, Deng could have a great chance to make an allstar team and be a very productive C on a contender for a decade. Noah will have a hard time getting tickets to an allstar game much less ever being selected.

What I like most about Hawes is that hes still very young and he comes from an NBA family. His uncle was a NBA player so I believe he could be something. Its still way to early to tell if Paxson is an idiot or not but with each yr that passes we are begining to Paxsons performance. I dont believe Paxson is a very good GM and so to question his picks seems like the more intelligent way to go. When you see that teams have given him 3 xtra lottery picks combined with his own his team should have more young talent than the Blazers. Right now its not in the top 20.
