Marbury??
If the knicks release marbury from his contract.
I think he would be a great pick up for the suns if we can get him for cheap.
He would be the veteran backup point guard that we need(if he's willing to take that role)
He would take alot of the burden off of nash.
I actually think that he would put us over the top.
Nash/Marbury/Barbosa/Strawberry
Bell/Barbosa/Barnes
Hill/Barnes/Diaw/Tucker
Amare/Diaw/Skinner?
Shaq/Lopez/Skinner?
Thats a solid team.
Thoughts??

Re: Marbury??
Starbury WILL NOT sign for cheap.
We're talkin bout the drama queen who thinks that he's the best PG in the world here. Bet he won't like the idea of having such a reduced role playing behind Nash either.
Dude pretty much sucks nowdays anyways, and is a cancer... no need for ol Isiah's garbage.

If he comes for the vet min that'd be a good signing IMO. More offense off the bench.

Re: Marbury??
I think he would come for cheap if he's bought out. At that point he would have already made his money for the season and might be interested in winning for a change.

Re: Marbury??
Yes, if its at the vet minimum and NOTHING MORE. If he even asked for a 4million/2year deal, I don't do it. Puts us deeper into the lux tax for one thing, and second, if he's unhappy with his role, he would have to be bought out buy us too. Vet minimum for a year, if it works, he'll go play for another team and we get Dragic over. If it doesn't, skrew him too.
With all the hate I have for this guy, what he's shown people this summer seems to be that he is willing to work hard and accept any role on any team that gets him playing time. That would be great for us because
a) he can play the PG and SG, and gaurd SG's if needed (so if Barbosa is on the floor, he would gaurd the PG while Starbury gaurds the SG).
b) he would be another scorer and veteran leader on a solid bench (taking that Barnes is our starter, Starbury/Barbs/Hill/________/Lopez is an extremely deep and solid bench. You CANNOT have a better bench unless you're looking at the AllStar team roster or a National Team roster.
c) He would help sell some jerseys and tickets. There are a lot of fans in Phoenix who seemed to like this guy when he was here (No clue why), but this would be a great marketing technique.
d) Whatever me or anyone say's, this guy can still ball. With the other veterans in our locker room, he can't be that big a cancer. Instead, with Shaq's tough, mental presence and Nash's leadership around, this guy could turn out to be a more humbler person, and player.

Re: Marbury??
I'd take him if he signed cheap, I wasn't a huge fan of him while he was here simply because it cost us Kidd to get him and he wasn't a traditional point guard. But as a back up I think he could get the job done and prolong nash's career a bit and hopefully keep him rested for the playoffs.

Ya know what fine I guess I wouldn't be 100% opposed to Marbury at nothing more than min. But I doubt FO does this.

Re: Marbury??
i´m talkin bout marbury for weeks now, i would love him back here
i think the ny time realy showed him that he has to show more maturity - and i loved him the time he was here. i´d even take him for 2 mil a year... no matter what, players like nash, ghill, rara or even shaq could handle with marbury. imo..

i'd love him here!
our team would be giganticly strong!!! i don't care about the disputes he had. he can play and we could use him IF he is willing to play backup AND for a small salary.
if so---> GET HIM OVER HERE!
but i don't think he would sign that cheap and/or he might be looking for a starting position

Re: Marbury??
We all know what Marbury has become in NY. He was not bad here, and did well as our pg. IMO, the suns are not signing him more than the vets min. We can’t afford it. But if he comes, hes already making a ton anyways, so money is not that big of an issue, but it could be I guess.
To me, this is the best option of a backup to nash out their. Hes better than all of the names that have been mentioned, and if he is cheap, hes worth it.
His reputation has taken an even harder hit these last few years under Thomas due to his own actions, and the organizations actions too.
The guy is not a true PG like nash, but honestly, there are only a few TRUE pg in this league. The guys still avg like 20 and 8 as a pg, which is pretty good. Hes a good shooter, which we need, hes strong, can take it to the hoop, and when he makes up his mind, he can be a solid player.
A combo of nash and marbury is a deadly one that most teams will not be able to adjust to that well. Its saves nash’s legs and back, and gives Marbury an opportunity to clean up his reputation to be a team guy, a bench guy and to spring himself into another contract if he does well here.
I personally take the risk at the vets min. If it is bad, you release him. Its not like we are eating up 20 mil. But it is a risk I think this organization has to take if it wants to win.

Re: Marbury??
He's making over $20 mil no matter what this year (whether he stays in New York or gets bought out). If he is bought out, then I would take him for Vet Min here anyday of the week and twice on Sundays. He would be awesome behind Nash and even playing along side Nash at times. Plus he's better than the rest of the free agent PG's left out there.

I think the guy is mental, he's making 20 million per year and is rated as the worst valued player sells 19.00 dollar shoes and just put a tatoo on his head, said he wants to play basketball in Europe.
There is no way I would sign the guy for free. MOVE ON

WOW!
Which free agent pg would you rather sign??
Because he would be by far the best one available.
And we wouldnt be paying him 20 millon dollars.
