At first look, Greene appears to have one up on Speights but when you look at their rebounding averages, Speights clearly has the overall better package. Of course, the sample size is WAY too small to really compare the two at this point.

With that said, it would have been great to have gotten an extra pick and taken both Greene and Speights. Greene would have been a nice player to have coming off the bench behind Thaddeus at the SF.

This was a great draft overall, so I wanted the 76ers to have 2 picks in round 1. However, that would have prevented the 76ers from getting Brand. First round picks are guaranteed X amount of dollars. You saw that we had to deal Carney and company to make more cap space for Brand.

The 76ers gambled and won, since they figured they could get Brand or Smith. In the meantime if they failed, Ed could have 2nd guessed himself for not picking up an extra ist round pick. Ed wins round 1. Let's see how round 2 goes, picking up shooters.

Unless some team surprisingly is willing to trade for Evans, I don't see a major upgrade in shooting until 2009-10. There's only so much Ed can accomplish in one summer, and he's sort of out of bullets. His only extra players are more of the untradeable dud variety like WG and Evans- and there is not a penny of cap or any exemptions.

Maybe we can get Orlando to take him for Cook and Reddick. We'd also kick in $3 million in the deal to pay for the difference in the contract. They need a rugged rebounder who doesn't need the ball and he would fit the bill. They are looking to move both Cook and Reddick, who no longer fit there and they signed Anthony Johnson to be the back up PG. I would even consider expanding that deal and see if we can do Miller, Evans and Green for Reddick, Battie, Nelson and Cook. We would get a back up for Dalembert, a back up SG who can really shoot the 3, a back up PF who can hit the 3, and a young PG who is a local kid and who can shoot the 3 as well. Plus we'd be able to use the MLE and LLE next season and then free up some cap space for the year after. We might even be able to flip Cook again later in the season for another piece.

I think Nelson, Williams and Ivey at the point. Iggy, Reddick, and a guy like Devin Brown at SG/SF, with Young, Dalembert, Battie, Brand, Smith, Speights, Cook, and maybe someone like a Quinton Ross, would have the makings of a very nice team.

So your lineup would look like:

C:Dalembert/Battie/Speights
PF:Brand/Cook/Speights
SF:Thaddeus Young/Iggy
SG:Andre Iguodala/Louis Williams/J.J Reddick
PG:Jammer Nelson/Louis Williams/Ivey

I like what Cook and Reddick bring from the outside. And I like the added bonus of Louis Williams looking to recieve large minutes. But if Williams ever gets injured, Reddick's the main backup. And I'm not sure if I want a guy like Reddick, who's a short version of Kyle Korver(without any other way to score nor can he play defense) getting signifcant minutes.

So what we need is another back-up SG/SF. Because if Thad goes down, we have no SG.
