8.5 euro is still a lot. That's about $14 million US, and when you include taxes it's really worth about $22 million. $22 million/3 is not bad at all.

Just to clarify, Delfino's agent held an interview with a local network (TyC Sports) He is NOT being paid 10M a year, neither net nor gross. The mistake LaNacion made (and the other media outlets that picked up the report) arises from the way Delfino's agent answered a particular question. They asked him if this deal would basically equate, when considering tax breaks and the signing bonus, a "close to 9M per year deal from an NBA team" and Delfino's agent said that that was correct. He also mentioned taxes in Detroit (specifically said Detroit, as he was talking about the 12M offer Delfino received from the pistons) add up to 44% percent of the contract when you consider "income tax and other taxes". Now if you have a 35% income tax, where does the other 9% comes from, estimated housing cost?
