Looks like this was limited to rookies.

Otherwise Douby would probably deserve a spot. Plus Dahntay Jones had an incredibly efficient summer league outing, including a remarkable 29 points on 8 FG attempts (in only 25 minutes). DJ Strawberry and Alando Tucker also played very well.

If Rose and Bealey wouldve played, they would be on that list.

Memgrizzlies, What in the world leads you to believe that? Rose wasn't exactly stellar in his summer league games so far. Thats a relatively illogical assumption. Considering the forwards, Hickson was no slouch (posting 19 - 8- 1blk averages) while at SF Greene scored 22.6 a game. I don't quite know how Beasley would stack up. I'm sure he would be competitve yes but to assume he would knock one of these other players off automatically is just ludicrous. I mean if Anthony Randolph didn't make the team (the player I believe proved the most so far in SL- which doesn't mean much), I don't quite know how Beasley would fair. He wouldn't fit the bill as a C, but even then I'm not sure you can assume he would trump Love's 18 - 13 average.

As for Rose, I can safely say he would not have beat Bayless out for this list. Mayo's place is relatively debateable but he had solid numbers all around plus the most memorable play from Summer League so far.

Regardless, it is a subjective SL list.

I was mostly impressed with Hickson's mad nastiness around the rim.

Bayless stuffed the stat sheet but Ramon Sessions inarguably ran his team better. True Hoop tabbed him as the best playmaker on the circuit.

Hickson is going to be a beast if he can improve his conditioning. He noticeably would move slower as halves went along. He'd be less apt to be in position on both defense and the boards, which wasn't for lack of trying. He'd still have some success on offense because he knew where he was going before his opponent. He has an advanced understanding of how to wrong foot opponents with a series of fakes and always has orientation of where his body is relative to the basket, allowing him to score from every different angle imaginable.

Considering that Hickson is a project he definitely played well in the Summer League. Still gotta get the FT % up as well as those assists numbers.

I thought Robin Lopez played exceptionally well considering he has almost zero offensive game.

We need an All-Star break at the SL halfway point.

Should teh FG % be worrisome? Sub 50% against SL oponents?

Beasley and Rose did play in the Orlando Summer League and quite frankly, neither one of them were all that impressive. I don't think you could make the case that either one of them played better then Bayless/Mayo/Greene/Hickson/Love.

Beasley: 19.6 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 0.8 BPG, and shot 38.8% from the field.
Hickson: 19.4 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.2 BPG, and shot 53.4% from the field.

Rose was even worse then Beasley. Rose averaged 9.5 PPG, 5.5 APG, 4.0 RPG, 2.0 SPG on 29.4% from the field, 0% from three, and 64% from the FT line, before being shut down with a knee injury. His performance certainly wasn't close to Bayless or Mayo's.

I just can't see how you could justify putting either one of them over any of the five guys they picked.
