There's not a snowball's chance in you know where that ATL is trading JJ, especially with that package you put together.

Call me crazy, but I think I like what actually happened better.

Not crazy at all. I really liked what happened better as well. We could not even form that line-up because Brand did not want to sign with us. I think everybody is going to be surprised with our line-up. The signings are not done yet. We will see how our roster looks after the Warriors match or pass. I just hope we go after Sofo finally after we find out what will happen.

I agree that the real Clippers team is better than this scenario. Neither of those trades would have had any realistic chance of happening anyway.

I like this new team as well. I think we're going to be overlooked since we lost our "big time player" in Brand. Other teams will underestimate us. :)

It was just about a month ago now that I thought the season was over for the Clippers before it had begun. I was battening down the hatches bigtime, feeling betrayed and angry and wondering how to keep my spirits and hopes up this time around.
And now I feel absolutely optimistic and happy about the prospects.
There's a very fresh and fine feel about this team, even if there are no more changes --- and I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more.
I agree with Fishy that the team could slip under the radar for a while, and I think that could be a very good thing.
Anyway, what a difference a month makes!

Which is what happened in 05-06 when we took PHX to 7 in the conference semis. :D

Add me to the list of those who actually prefer what we have now. The FO was a bit more proactive this season and responded well to the initial setback, so I have no complaints with the product that we'll have out on the court come November.

I just find it funny that one of the things the OP suggested the Clippers "should have" done was re-sign Brand. Brand didn't want to be here, plain and simple...it's not the Clippers' fault.

And even if they had re-signed Brand, Atlanta is not letting go of Joe Johnson. I do like the Hinrich for Maggette S&T but since Brand skipped town, Baron is a no-brainer.
