LBJ TO BK 08, you are a typical player "stats" fan or a typical basketball video gamer... you'll take stats/ names over the basketball players making the right basketball plays.
There's no intimidation with Camby when he's anchored as the main defender. He's a help defender not a main defender. He gets tons of block shots because he never stays in front of his man. He actually purposely intentionally lets his man/ forward/ guard whatever position, get by him so he can block it from the side. If you're slow, then he will block your shots. But the Tony Parkers will take their chances if anyone lets them drive past.
I remember him receiving the DPOY award prior to Game 3 against the Spurs in 07... then in the same game, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili proceeded to open a lay-up drill all game long and mostly done on Camby... had you watched that game, and actually cared about the Nuggets, you wouldn't believe this was the guy who just held up the trophy just before the game and it's an award for the whole season. He provided so little resistance, it encouraged other Spurs to be aggressive. There was even one sequence where he could have blocked the shot but because he wasn't from the weakside, he did nothing.... NOTHING... didn't even put his hands up!!!
Camby intentionally lets players drive around him so he can block it from the side. He gets 3-4 blocks a game but he also surrenders about 6-7 layups and not defend the right way. If you don't defend the right way, not fill up the paint, it's going to encourage opposing players to even be more aggressive.

But I hate to say, all his weaknesses will be covered in the Clippers. Because they have the main defender, Kaman... and Camby can now actually afford to let penetration drive around him because there's still Kaman waiting. With him being able to fully focus on shot blocking from the weak side, he will be very good.
As said before, he's a help defender and not a main defender. As a main defender, he sucks...
