AI -- 25/3/7
JR -- 15/5/2
Melo -- 25/9/3.5
Kmart -- 10/8/2
Nene -- 10/7/2

Conservative estimates, particularly for Melo who I could see drop a 27-28ppg 10rpg season IF AI wants to accept a reduced role.

Also not sure what the starting backcourt is going to be... conventional wisdom says you need a PG and that AI is not a PG, but JR is so much better than Anthony Carter that he needs to start.

JO - 15ppg, 8rpg, 2apg, 2bpg
Bosh - 22ppg, 8rpg, 3apg, 1bpg
Moon - 8ppg, 6rpg, 1apg, 1.5bpg
Parker - 12ppg, 3rpg, 2apg, 1spg
Calderon - 12ppg, 3rpg, 10apg, 1.5spg

Reasons for changes vs. their 06/07 stats:
- JO slightly better across the board due to being healthier (I hope) and more motivated (I hope). Still not at the roughly 20/10 pace he was keeping up for the 6 previous seasons though, as he is getting older/hobbled by injuries
- Bosh with basically the same stats, but less rebounds, due to JO grabbing more boards than previous Toronto Cs
- Moon with basically the same stats
- Parker with basically the same stats (scoring and rebounding slightly down, assists slightly up, all due to JO)
- Calderon's stats are roughly his 07/08 stats, adjusted to the 36mpg he'll be receiving (his per-36-min 07/08 stats were 13.4ppg, 9.8apg, 3.4rpg, 1.3spg)

Some of these are laughable. People need to realize that when a new player joins a team, or when a player returns from injury, their old stats won't automatically transfer. Minutes and rotations will be affected. Also, players who put up good numbers for about 5 games won't continue that trend. Most starting lineups will average between 70 and 80 points per game. Furthermore, young players won't automatically double their stats unless there is a strong indication that they will either receive more playing time, or be given a more active role. For very fast paced teams, teams with injury-prone starters, or teams that don't use a bench, that number may be a little higher. For slower teams, or teams that have a supersub, that number will be lower. Now, because I'm bored, I'm gonna try to project some stats for some presumed starting lineups that seem to be the general consensus around these parts:

Southwest Division:

New Orleans Hornets:
PG: Chris Paul- 20 ppg, 4 rpg, 12 apg, 2.5 spg
SG: James Posey- 9 ppg, 4.5 rpg
SF: Peja Stojakovic- 13.5 ppg, 4 rpg
PF: David West- 19.5 ppg, 9 rpg
C: Tyson Chandler- 10.5 ppg, 12.5 rpg
6th: Jannero Pargo- 8.5 ppg, 3 apg

Houston Rockets:
PG: Rafer Alston- 11.5 ppg, 4.5 apg
SG: Tracy McGrady- 23.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5 apg
SF: Shane Battier- 9.5 ppg, 5 rpg
PF: Luis Scola- 10 ppg, 7 rpg
C: Yao Ming- 25 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2 bpg
6th: Carl Landry- 8.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg

San Antonio Spurs:
PG: Tony Parker- 19.5 ppg, 6 apg
SG: Manu Ginobili- 17.5 ppg, 5 rpg, 3.5 apg
SF: Bruce Bowen- 5 ppg, 3 rpg
PF: Tim Duncan- 19.5 ppg, 12 rpg, 2 apg, 2.5 bpg
C: Fabricio Oberto- 5 ppg, 5 rpg
6th: Roger Mason- 7.5 ppg

Dallas Mavericks:
PG: Jason Kidd- 9 ppg, 7 rpg, 8.5 apg
SG: Jason Terry- 14.5 ppg, 4 apg
SF: Josh Howard- 19 ppg, 7.5 rpg
PF: Dirk Nowitzki- 24.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3 apg
C: Erick Dampier- 6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.5 bpg
6th: Jerry Stackhouse- 10 ppg

Memphis Grizzlies:
PG: Mike Conley- 12 ppg, 5.5 apg
SG: OJ Mayo- 16.5 ppg, 4 apg
SF: Rudy Gay- 21 ppg, 6.5 rpg
PF: Hakim Warrick- 9.5 ppg, 5 rpg
C: Darko Milicic- 6.5 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 bpg
6th: Darrell Arthur- 5.5 ppg, 6 rpg

People seem to be very generous about their big men getting assists. I see poor basketball IQ centers and power forwards getting 3apg, which is a lot for a big man.

JO: 16ppg, 9rpg, 1apg, 2bpg
Bosh: 21ppg, 9rpg, 1.5apg, 1bpg
Moon: 6ppg, 5rpg, 1apg, 1.5bpg
Parker: 10ppg, 3rpg, 2apg, 1spg
Calderon: 14ppg, 2rpg, 9apg, 1spg

I don't think Calderon is going to have as much assists as most people expect. He seems to have endurance issues with me. I haven't checked for his stats last season but in 06-07 Calderon had his best games between longer rest days. I predict him around the high 8's.

Calderon will be alright. He will be in the 9-10 region.

You'll know more than me, but Roko Ukic could be a very good backup, which will mean Jose will only have to play 32-34 minutes.
