He won't do it. He will be forfeiting a lot of endorsement money in the US. TV exposure will also drop. Plus, Europeans don't really give a crap about basketball.

Maybe if he were a footballer. But I think he probably makes most of his money in sponsorships, Vitamin Water, Nike, etc., rather than through the Cavs.

having a 20 million a year contract, as opposed to a 30 million a year contract is not going to make a big difference in becoming a billionaire really. He'll make a lot more money in the states, even if he had a 5 million dollar contract.

Obviously he wouldn't leave. 30 million is just going to be his salary. Can you imagine how many endorsements cancel his services? He makes well over 100 mill in endorsements, and signing in europe would probably make that close to 20-50 mill. If money is the factor, it's not a factor at all.

He wouldn't leave. He can get a max contract in the NBA along with all the endorsements. He'll be making a ton.

It depends on whether he cares more about money or his legacy in the NBA. I'd say he cares more about leaving his mark in the NBA.

But my point is:

You bring LeBron over to be LeBron.

You don't bring over LeBron to just be another integrated part of the offense. You need him to be the offense. Not that he's the one who has to do all the scoring, but that he's the centrum and foundation of the offense.

Otherwise you might as well sign an NBA MLE type player.

Doesn't mean you bring him in to be a ball hog. Stars will be the main focal point on offense, but it won't net you 40ppg.

To all the people saying that LeBron would drop 40 a night in the Euroleague, you obviously don't know how the FIBA game works.

Of course he would consider it, he wouldn't be much of a business man if he didn't and (correct me if i am wrong LeBron fans) he has huge interests in business outside of basketball, a lot more than most NBA stars.

For everyone saying he would lose endorsment dollars. that is crazy
Nike would pay him a hell of a lot more if he went global, especially in Europe.
He is already popular overseas, no doubt, but his stock would be higher than the any other athlete ever, the only one that he possibly couldnt get to is MJ.
He wouldn't be over there for a long period of time and the money he would get would be absolutely crazy.
Even Europe basketball in the States would raise dramatically. Tell me you wouldn't tune in to see a few games?
It all grows from there.
How much Europe BBall would be on ESPN etc.
Hell the Euroleague would probably chip in a lot of money too.
A 2-year deal could net him as much as 150 million dollars from just his team and Nike.

I don't really know too much about soccer, but 10-12 years ago would anyone have said that David Beckham would sign for a US soccer team?
So couldn't this be possible too?

Don't think he would go. He is THE NBA and won't leave.

A club from Ouzbekistan with a rich owner offered 40 mil Euro + a 10 mil bonus which is a total of 75 mil US$ for a year, value of 100 mil US if you count no tax just for 1 year of Samuel Etoo, Barcelona and Cameroon striker.

Assume that Lebron get the same offer, the guy want to be a global icon and the 1st billionnaire athlete, is there a better way than going to Europe for 2 years and come back with between 100 and 200 millions in your pocket?

Before Beckam only old players were leaving Euro clubs for the MLS, but when he got offered 250 millions over 5 years while no Euroclub were offerring more than 30 millions, he took the money and run. Who cares about the champions league and competitve soccer when you have 250 millions.

All it takes is one completly ridiculous offer. Its not likely, but you never know. But he is not leaving for 30 mil a year thats for sure.
