If you were David Stern . . .

What would you change about the NBA?

Personally, I would get rid of the whole "fouling at the end of the game" strategy, which makes for very boring, very drawn out basketball. It could easily be eliminated by a rule change along the lines of:
"In the last 2 minutes of the game, when a team over the limit commits a non-shooting foul, instead of shooting two free throws and giving up possession of the ball, the fouled team will shoot only one free throw, but regardless of whether the free throw is made or not, the fouled team will keep possession, inbounding the ball from the sidelines."

I find "changing the L" to be overrated..there isn't much that needs to be changed, other than reffing the game better, which isn't something they can change easily..it would help if Stern and the refs didn't rig a title in 2002 though, that would give them more credibility in their effort to make it better..hopefully they try though..some people need to accept that it's a tough game to officiate though..

I've never found an NBA game to be boring..I don't watch teams like Memphis, because they don't interest me, but it's more because of their mediocrity..but when playoff-caliber teams are playing, I don't really see how a game can be boring to watch..

I would change the NBA's marketing and presentation though..luckily for us this year, we had the Celtics win a title..they are a class team with an unselfish superstar and great team play..they're lucky they played in Boston though, because it would have been different otherwise..the NBA needs to stop marketing guys with questionable pasts, and that can be considered bad role models to anybody..

ESPN's basketball coverage is also terrible..ABC as well, but not as bad..

Fantastic! Now the NBA isn't broadcasted on a local channel anymore. You're a genius

To be honest, I'd call less touch fouls, and that would really be about it. Maybe give a little more breathing room on trading.

Refs need to be supervised by an independent entity so the fans don't rightly think that the league rigs outcomes. This is the one thing that I agree with Phil Jackson on

So all the small market teams can lose their good players to LA, Miami or New York. It'd be just like baseball, and that's not a good thing.

If I was David Stern, I would stop relocating teams with 41 years of history in it's city to a D-League market.

The, I'd retire cause I'm showing my age mentally and physically.
