Sixers Get New (Old) Unis?

The photos that the Sixers have released of Brand are in a retro uniform. Also, I remember the jersey that they made up for Josh Smith was also the style of the early 1980's. Are we headed back to this logo and jersey?

I for one hope so. SF, you have the inside info on player movement, how about uniforms?

When Smith was in town, the jersey hanging in the locker was the alternate red one. Now when Brand signs, he wears the white throwback. Obviously this current regime AKA Stefanski doesn't like the AI era jersey.

There is a flash presentation that precedes the front page the the Sixers website now featuring not only the retro jersey, but the old Sixers logo.

C'mon let's turn the clock back!

I think this is a great question to pose to sixerfan1976!

Have you heard anything about the sixers switching back to the new retro uniforms? Maybe you can pass it on to your buddy that the majority of sixers fans loved the old uniforms, and would much prefer them. Besides I think now is a better time than ever to switch to new uniforms, with a new era on the horizon.

I have a good feeling they are switching back. In addition to all the examples that have been listed, I remember a poll that was list on sixers.com during the season about do you think retro jerseys a.) will never go out of style b.)are a thing of the past c.)etc...I think they were polling the fan base to what kind of reaction they'd get to a switch back. I, for one, am all for it!!! They should go back to the 82,83 home white and away red and then wear the blue Wilt PHILA jerseys as an alternate.

I got five bucks that this years team slogan will be, "A Brand New Past"

hey guys

according to the official nba stylesheet, only the Magic, Kings, Hornets, and Timberwolves are getting new unis (raptors are getting new alternates and denver made some tweaks)... I hadn't heard anything about the Sixers for this season... maybe they'll be wearing these throwbacks more often this season, then make a full switch the year after???

No dice on the switch back to the old unis. It's the 60th anniversary of the franchise and they're just using the unis and the logo a lot more this year, than last. However, a lot of people in the organization like the old unis better, so maybe we'll get lucky and they'll decide to switch em up.

Hey guys, I work at the Wachovia Center and all I can really say is we've done a ton of fan research and found the old logo (the one pictured on Brand's shorts) is preferred by about 70% of the people. I think a final decision has yet to be made about a full time switch back to the old uni's, but definitely look for them a lot more as alternates next season.

Well... another day, another e-mail from the Sixers and another new gif file that features the old logo and colors. I'm telling you... aside from using a backdrop curtain during the Brand news conference, I haven't seen the newer logo (the worse one) used to represent this franchise.

Well, seeing that a poster already said the team is celebrating its 60th anniversary and with the pic that TGP posted that has the 60th anniversay logo at the bottom, that may be the reason for all of this.

But I'm just like TGP...this is getting to me and got me wondering if they will change over because I want it to happen so bad.
