As a guy who's been following Hart since college, all I have to say is.... HALLELUJAH!! Even a hardcore Hart supporter (am I the only one?) cannot deny how terrible he was last year. I really like Knight's game too. A+++ move. Top stuff.

I don't think the salaries match to within 25%... Prolly cash or a 2nd thrown in if it's legit

It's 1 year $2M remaining. I'd like to see some source. x.x Hart played well for us before Utah gave him that contract. I don't think I'd mind him coming back unless he plays bad like he did for you guys. :P

Edit - Looks good. RealGM just posted it.

Great Tarde, right now we have a point guard who can play limited min and still pass the ball and shoot well from mid range.

Brevin won't do anything amazing, but he won't turn the ball. The guy use to do the right decision.

We are a little better right now.

I just looked at the salaries on both the Jazz and Clippers. Knight's contract is 2 million dollars less than Hart's which is actually the amount the OKC "Thunder" offer CJ Miles above our initial QO! Could this mean the Jazz are opening some cap space to perhaps math CJ's offer?

Eh? Hart's salary is $2.484M, Knight's is $2.0M even. The difference is $484K. If the difference were 2 million dollars the trade could not have gone through.

Where did you get those numbers? I was going from the realgm's trade checker which has Hart's salario ratio being 9.2 mil and Knight's 7.4 mil. I know it's the ratio, so that's where I got the 2 mil difference. I also thought since the Clippers are under the Cap, they have more room to make such trade, perhaps my reasoning is wrong.

I'm not quite sure how the Trade Checker's numbers work, but it's not just dollar-for-dollar. The gap between trade numbers is not equivalent to millions.

The best salary resource I've ever found is Shamsports, here:

Sham does a phenomenal job of keeping track of things.

Yeah, you're right! I just went to HoopsHype and they have the same numbers you have. The realgm number's are not dollar-per-dollar. I guess we have 500K more to match for CJ, let's do it!

Good trade for Jazz as Brevin is a quality veteran back up point guard, but how much will he actually play. Im afraid Sloan sees a veteran and thinks here is the new fisher causing brewer and Almond to lose time. I guess price goes back to 3rd guard. I actually had no problem with him being a back up point guard.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Great pickup.

Actually lobbied the board last year at this time that he should have been a target.

Great assist/turnover ratio. Not a great shooter, but he doesn't feel compelled to shoot much either.

Will be great as an 8-10 minute/game guy. He and Price are completely opposites as backup point guards. A passer versus a shooter. Gives Sloan flexibility depending on what is needed.

I'm happy for the trade! Brevin is a quality back-up PG. He is a smart player, a veteran. The Realgm article says Knight ranked second in the NBA in assists-per-turnover (4.62), and third in steals per turnover (2.87). I think Sloan will fall in love with him! I think he will bring some leadership like Fisher did and perhaps help the Jazz be more consistent.

as a bobcats fan who has has both of these guys on the same team.

just wanted to let you guys know....make sure jerry sloan doesnt let knight shoot. he can't shoot worth crap and he's a little bit unclutch in late game free throws despite his usual 80% ft shooting. but u guys wont have to worry about that since u have deron. he is a very good backup who wont turn the ball over.
