Re: I will miss you Cj
I don't really understand your reaction.
My point is that, even on a fan forum, when we have no real evidence, we generally say things like: "It's pathetic if Sloan really held that grudge for so much of the season," as opposed to: "I can't believe he held that grudge for so long."
I neither agree, nor disagree with the article. It's interesting to think about certainly. All I'm saying is that you're discussing it as if it's incontrovertible fact, when it's all speculation and theory. Speculation and theory are plenty worth discussing, and we often do, but the fact that it seems logical doesn't automatically make it true.
I was just commenting on the way you presented it, not claiming you don't have the right to believe Sloan punished him and discuss how you feel about that if it's in fact what happened.

I think it's in the best interest of the future of the team to match this offer. If Deron is so outspoken about keeping the kid around, and other stars in this league are taking notice (Bron, Melo, Wade all mentioned to Deron that CJ suprised them).
3.75 mil per year is a good deal, and considering Korver could opt out next season we need his long range abliities.

Bye Bye Sloan, Good Riddance Deron. Hello new Era in Jazz Basketball.

I find it completely plausible that Sloan held a grudge against CJ. After all, we all know that Sloan is a horses a$$.

Re: I will miss you Cj
I hope the Jazz Match. I like CJ I prefer a Brewer/KK/CJ/AK rotation with Harpring retiring.
The thing to consider is a 3 guarranteed contract with a 4 year at team option (it might be player option- I forget.) That is dirt cheap for a potentially very good player.
The other then to consider is that Sloan probably won't be the coach when that contract ends.
Additionally it is a very tradable contract. Matching makes sense from a trading point of view as well.

I agree on matching. Is there any news on if the Jazz are going to do it?

They have to match this. IF they don't then we are starting to see the down fall of this team with the new unexcited son taking over. This is his first small choice. Will he do the best thing in keeping a good player for a great price or will he only think of the money issue.

I really don't think that it is up to LHM's son whether they sign Miles or not. It would imagine that is between KOC and Sloan.
LHM always really like Miles.

Re: I will miss you Cj
What makes me a little sick is that if we don't match the offer, a major reason will be that we have Harpring on the roster. As long as we have Matt, there is no way Sloan is letting CJ break the rotation, even if Harp has to use a wheelchair to get up and down the court.
If Matt were gone, I think we'd match without question. It's gonna be sad to see a future piece of this franchise - a player that is only going to get better - get away because of loyalty to a player who is only going to get worse.

I don't really believe that Miles situation is related to Harpring's one in Jazz brass mind.
KOC will decide based on Miles himself and in some cap related issues.

you're right, it's probably not directly related. But keeping an aging harp and his monster contract is one reason (among others) that we're in this cap situation where we have to choose. Too bad, I'll miss CJ and I think we'll regret letting him go.

O'Connor said yesterday on the radio that he will wait untill friday to anounce if he is matching or not. Hhe said he always waits because #1 you never know what is going to happen, and #2 it hamstring the other team from making any other moves.

I believe it is midnight EST time. My guess is the Jazz will make it after the RMR game just to make sure that Almond doesn't have some freak injury preventing him from playing next season.

Thanks.
I have no problem with the suspension though, since I was kind of an ass. There were a lot of immature insults being thrown around by myself and others, but I shouldn't have started it by saying this board was a joke. My apologies to Jazzfan1971.
I wonder how many people who posted in this thread have the guts to eat their crow? I'm guessing not many. Props to those who do.
Don't ya just hate it when the new guy who acts like ass ends up being right?
