Kwame Brown?
Have the Lakers thought about using the LLE on Kwame Brown? He would shore up a need lossed by Ronny Turiaf and he knows the system plus he's big. I know people can't stand him but he'd come much cheaper. It's him or basically someone like Francisco Elton.

Re: Kwame Brown?
As much as I know, i've heard no real reports of the Lakers interested in Kwame, much less for the LLE.
He's a young big. He's bound to get more somewhere else to be honest.

Re: Kwame Brown?
He seems to be in the mix in Atlanta, his hometown and if he does have a choice he'd rather choose not to get booed again at the Staples.

Yes he did and that shows up the class of our fans and even on the occasion he got booed, it was more like being the fall guy for all the injuries and the fans took him as a target to take out all their frustrations on.
He just stunk it up on the wrong day.

Re: Kwame Brown?
I cannot see us bring back Kwame. He had his chance here. He just did not perform.
Why would we bring him back.
I'd rather give more mintues to DJ. I'g give the LLE to DJ before I give it to Kwame. DJ is a better rebounder and shot blocker and finishes better around the rim.
With a full training camp under his belt, he can actually be a solid back up to Bynum and Gasol.

D.J. sucks at rebounding. However he can improve and he'll likely be the number three man. Mihm will be the #2 man but will give way to a PF/C backup like Elson who I think we may sign. Also we may trade Radmanovic for Evans and for now will have Odom.
Even if we deal Odom:
PF- Gasol, Evans, Elson
C- Bynum, Mihm, Mbenga
Isn't the end of the world.

Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Re: Kwame Brown?
Still even if we were to sign Theo Ratliff, Kwame or whoever to a contract what I begin to wonder is why mess around with the backup big rotation and try to place Lamar at SF. If he's so loyal and committed to being a Laker for less than why not ask him to play PF period. He could theoretically even play 30 mpg as the backup PF, with Gasol the primary backup C.
Sure you could play him at SF at times if you want but I want him playing there at full weight not at 225. I want the league's 12th-14th best PF playing where he belongs. Inside rebounding...
I question whether he truly is that good of a SF.

Re: Kwame Brown?
Fans treated him like crap here, so I'd be surprised to see him back although I'd love to have him back as a backup for the BAE. The reason he was treated so poorly was because he was a starter making 9 mill, and he's not good enough for that.

Re: Kwame Brown?
Even thinking about bringing him back makes me want to vommit in my own mouth.
Are you freaking kiddn me? I swear to God I would rather have a tree trunk line up to play for us instead of kwame.
For any muscle he may add to our team, I could not endure the countless number of blown layips, turnovers, clanked freethrows and dumb plays.
No freaking way.

Re: Kwame Brown?
I've wanted Kwame back since he got traded. If he's 100%, he's worth it. As a back-up, for 2-3 mil a year he's perfect. I always thought he was a piece integral to our championship puzzle just because of his ability to defend guys like Duncan, Garnett, Dwight, and even Yao without requiring a 2nd defender. Screw his offense, we got Odom, Gasol, and Bynum on the squad. We're hurting on the defensive end and we need an insurance plan because Bynum and Gasol are pretty injury prone, Kwame just makes sense here and from what I understand Kobe and everybody else loves him in the locker room.
Watching Kwame the past few years has made me root for him in that underdog type of way despite all his flaws. It was the same way with Sasha too, the dude sucked so bad early on, but he finally became a shooter that can actually shoot. If Kwame's role is diminished and refined here in LA, he can excel at what he we need. I mean sh** if we asked Sasha to attack the basket or guard elite 2guards all the time we'd be screwed; sasha has a good attitude on defense but he gets burned a lot and he's really only good at pestering people. Give Kwame a role as primarily a defender and he's worth it. If the Mavs had Diop, as crappy as he is on offense, they would've done much better in the playoffs... same goes for the Lakers and Kwame.

Seriously? The Kwame Brown you can defend with 1 hand placed on his chest or stomach? The Kwame Brown that sits around waiting for nothing?
Kwame is just wasted potential.

Only to those who have no clue about what the Lakers needs are.
