Re: TRADE THREAD
I think Wally has some value as a big expiring. I haven't seen Cleveland panic and try to shed any money yet, and don't expect them too.
Joe Smith and Varejao should have some good value as expiring contracts as well. Somebody might even take Damon Jones and his expiring if they are trying to shed some salary.
If I were Danny Ferry, I would try and parlay all my expirings into some valuable players, rather than let them expire since they are still going to be over the cap next summer and won't be able to bring anyone in to help Lebron out, until his opt out year. And that may be too late to keep him in town.

Re: TRADE THREAD
cambys numbers last year 9.2 points a game 3.6 blocks game 1.1 steals 3.3 assists 13.1 rebounds
lopez summer League stats 14.0 points per 0.0 steals 1.8 blocks 1.3 assists and 7.8 rebounds
he needs to get boards up more but other then that i would say very solid numbers
i might be a little out there when i say he will beat out camby this year he probly will not get the playing time to put up big numbers but the kid can play

Re: TRADE THREAD
^ It's obvious what Ferry is trying to do. Cleveland fans are flipping out because he is "sitting on his hands." I disagree. Ever since the trade deadline move last summer, I knew where he was going. Wally was useless to them, but shedding Hughes contract THAT quickly was a MASTERPLAN.
- Wally + Joe + Pavs + Damon Jones + Joe Smith + Anderson Varejao ALL have trade value, most being expirings.
Ferry is going to pull off a solid blockbuster at the trade deadline, netting the Cavs atleast ONE, if not two stars. Don't be surprised if Ron Artest doesn't get moved till the deadline, where the Cavs trade Wally + DJ for Artest and Kenny Thomas, which inturn means they get another expiring for next year. Sweet life for Danny Ferry....

Re: TRADE THREAD
^ An afterthought, that trade could happen now aswell.
Heres a couple trade idea i came up with though:
I dont see the Suns acquiring Harrington, even if it means dumping DIaw, because he can be locker room problematic if he isnt given minutes, and he wont get anythign more than 20mpg with Amare eating up minutes. I think a 3-team deal is more likely if anything.
FIRST DEAL:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=
GSW gets Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Alando Tucker for Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington.
Magic get Al Harrington and Suns 2010 Second for Hedo Turkoglu, and JJ Reddick.
Suns get Stephen Jackson, Hedo Turkoglu, and JJ Reddick for Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Alando Tucker and 2010 Second round pick.
Follow up trade:
Rockets trade Joey Dorsey, Luther Head and Chuck Hayes for Raja Bell.
Suns trade Raja Bell for Hakim Warrick and Javaris Critttenton.
Grizzlies trade Javaris Crittenton and Hakim Warrick for Joey Dorsey, Luther Head and Chuck Hayes.
Bell would be redundant, so trade him for a backup point + PF to fill voids and complete the team.
Nash/Crittenton/DJ
Jackson/Barnes/Reddick
Turkoglu/Hill/Barnes
Stoudemire/Warrick
Shaq/Lopez
Sign skinner and thats 13. I think this is our masterplan

Re: TRADE THREAD
LOL. If Kerr could somehow pull that off he would surely be named Executive of the year. Atleast with the deal that nets us Sjax and Turk for Barbs and Diaw.
I am not a big fan of Crittenton.

I would love to get TT back, but I don't think the Clipps are going to throw in Jordan with that deal; I wouldn't if I were them atleast.

Dickau's never been much of a passer so I'm not wild about him, but its an idea.
Couple random trade ideas I had...
Trade One
Buss "not sold" on Farmar so...
Alando Tucker
future 2nd Round Pick
for
Jordan Farmar
Trade Two
Leandro Barbosa
for
Antonio Daniels
future protected 1st Round Pick

Re: TRADE THREAD
Haha Waking, I really think that trade works for all three teams. Thing is, i think we promised Barnes a lot of minutes, could he play a ton at SG? (which is where he would get them after this trade, unless Hill can play SG, which im 90% sure he can gaurd SG's if he can gaurd PG's..)

Re: TRADE THREAD
I don't think Harrington is nearly as valuable as Turk, from a Magic perspective.
And I think Jax and Harrington are a better pair of players than Barbs and Diaw. It makes the Warriors even smaller and softer than they already were.

Re: TRADE THREAD
^ Harrington, although hasnt asked for a trade, is clearly unhappy in Golden State. They also want a chance to play Brandan Wright more minutes, and harrington is just jamming position. Jackson, although he can play the SG, would create a log jam. Bellineli, Jackson, Maggatte, Ellis, Watson, Williams. Jackson will want to start, and he cant at SF so he will have to at SG. Ellis REALLY cant play PG as much as they want him to, so either Williams or CJ Watson start at point. Leaves the SG for Ellis, Jackson, and Belineli. 3 guys that are capable starters, only one can start. Yeah, Jackson is the captain, but he has NO future with the GSW, and it's clear he's getting older (although not in his stats, he IS getting older age wise). He has a very small (2 year) window open, he would like to use it. Barbosa wouldnt need to start for any team, as he's shown in Phoenix with his 6th man Abilities. Also, because of Boris' versatility, he can play anywhere from SF-C, meaning he wont take away many minutes from Brandan Wright. Harrington is the perfect fit in Orlando aswell. Maybe they'd want a pick, but I think this deal can be done with a sweetner or two. Just imagine this lineup..
Nash/DJ
Jackson/Barnes/Reddick
Turkoglu/Hill/Barnes
Stoudemire/
Shaq/Lopez
Sign Skinner and Cassel you are set with 13 guys and extreme depth.. solves our problem of not many shooters too. Jackson, Nash and Turkoglu can ALL shoot 3s. Ofcourse, Bell would be the odd man out, and we could package him and DJ for a backup PG/PF (i.e. Bobby Jackson + Joey Dorsey for Bell + DJ, or Raymond Felton and Sean May for the pair, or we add a first for Acie Law and Marvin Williams.
Lets say we do trade 1 (the most realistic), and sign Marks and Cassel to vet min contracts.
Nash/Cassel/B.Jackson
S.Jackson/Barnes/Reddick
Turkoglu/Hill/Barnes
Stoudemire/Dorsey/Skinner
Shaq/Lopez/Skinner
Like I said, we will be stronger at every position from the Bench, and MUCH stronger at both WING positions, while adding a solid defensive PF (Dorsey) along with 4 shooters (Cassel, S.Jackson, B.Jackson, and Turkoglu.) We also fill our most glaring defeciency of getting to the rack (other than Nash) in the clutch with Turkoglu, who was a top clutch performer last season, and Jackson. Damn, that would be one scary team. Who would you get off of to double Stoudemire (Shaq doesn't really command doubles anymore). Get off SHAQ, he can still finish, or use his passing skills (one of the best passing bigs of all time) to pass out for a 3 if you close on him. Get off any of the wings or Nash, and SPLASH, a 3. Don't double Stoudemire, and I can only think of 2 guys that can stop him. Duncan and Garnett one on one. SCARYYYYYYYYY.

Re: TRADE THREAD
Neither trade really helps us, and kills our cap space more than it does with keeping Diaw and Barbosa. Igoudala is basically a younger, more athletic Hill. Smith, as i stated in my thread of him being over hyped, is nothing special. No to both. Plus Smith cant even play the SF successfully.. Igoudala would cost us our only remaining shooter and get us just another slasher. No thanks..

I have never been a Josh Smith fan; so I will pass on him and his overinflated ego.
Iggy, however, makes the team better. How could he not, a two for one in terms of rotation players allow the rest of the rotation at the 2/3 to get a few more minutes in addition to Iggy's production. Unless Iggy gets a max deal, It doesn't hurt our cap at all. It also doesn't work cap wise unless Philly is still under by a few million and able to except more money back than they are shipping out.
And as far as the three trade deal you proposed, I like it from a Sun's perspective. I just don't see the Magic being overjoyed by swapping Turk for Harrington. Or for the Warriors to want Diaw and Barbs at the expense of two very valuable players. If Harrington wants out and is going to be a distraction, maybe we could pull off a straight swap Diaw for Harrington. I don't see GSW wanting Barbs on a team that is stacked at the 2/3.

Re: TRADE THREAD
PHX-MIL Trade Ideas
Trade 1:
Barbosa and Diaw for Mo Williams, Charlie V and Desmond Mason.
Nash / Williams / Strawberry
Bell / Mason / Tucker
Hill / Barnes / Tucker
Amare / Villanueva
Lopez / Shaq
Why for the Suns?
Suns get a guy who can run the point and eventual replacement for Steve in Mo Williams. Mason is not exactly the SG/SF Suns need but his defense and skills in pushing the ball to the basket will be of great help for this team. If Suns need shooting Tucker can alternate as the back-up for Raja. Charlie V though not know for his defense is a good prospect as back-up for Amare. Charlie perimeter game will complement Shaq's inside game and Suns can have the luxury of starting Robin over Shaq lateron. Best of all, Mason and Villanueva are expiring contracts.
Why for MIL?
With uprising Sessions fever, Mo might be expandible. They get an off the bench sparkplug who can score 20ppg. Diaw gives them inside scoring since almost all MIL players are perimeter oriented including Bogut.
or Trade 2:
Barbosa and Diaw for Charlie Bell, Desmond Mason, Joe Alexander, Dan Gadzuric
Nash / Charlie / Strawberry
Raja / Mason / Tucker
Hill / Barnes / Mason
Stoudamire / Alexander
Shaq / Lopez / Gadz
Why for the Suns?
Charlie Bell becomes the Suns back-up PG. Not that ideal but he can play decent point guard duties. He can split playing time with DJ on back-up PG. Charlie and DJ can also see some minutes on the 2 spot. As mentioned Mason is not exactly the SG/SF Suns need but his defense and skills in pushing the ball to the basket will be of great help to this team. If Suns need shooting Tucker can alternate as the back-up for Raja. Gadz is not exatly the ideal back-up C and his contract makes it more ugly but Suns get a future prospect who can become the next Shawn Marion.
Why for MIL?
They get an off the bench sparkplug who can score 20ppg. Diaw gives them back-to-the basket inside scoring and get rid of Gadz ugly contract. Alexander is a good prospect but MIL is in a win-now mode and needs a forward who can contribute.

Re: TRADE THREAD
Suns-Sixers Trade Idea.
Willie Green and Maresse Speights for Barbosa.
Why for the Suns?
Not as ideal but Suns save some dollars to resign skinner and back-up point. Suns save $1.2 each (lux tax excluded) in 08-09 and 09-10. Green 10-11 contract is not guaranteed and Suns can cut him down right there in time for the 2010 cap space plan.
Suns frontcourt of the future is Amare-Lopez-Speights. Cant wait Shaq praising this trio.
Why for Philly?
Philly needs a reliable outside shooter and starter at the 2 spot. Barbosa can fill the void.
Nash / Strawberry
Bell / Barnes / Green
Hill / Diaw / Tucker
Amare / Speights
Shaq / Lopez
Miller / Williams
Barbosa / Iggy
Iggy / Young
Brand / Evans
Dalambert / Smith
