Lakers interested in Loul Deng
Hey guys check out this website: http://thelakersnation.com/blog/
I've been using it for maybe 3 months and they seem to have the inside scoop on everything before even ESPN. They have good articles on the Lakers Coaching staff and updated rumours with good sources. check it out. The top story should be the lakers are interested in LOUL DENG! Tell me what you think about him fitting in the Tri-Offense

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
well i dont know what team wouldn't be interested on a guy with his caliber
if the cap wasnt such an issue than the lakers for sure would make a run for this kid
love this kid
wised he couldve stayed one more year in DUKE
the blue devils couldve made a run after his last year there if he had stayed
still love his game though
really good player
i actually wouldnt be hesitant about LO for Deng like i was with the LO for artest trade rumors

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
He would be a great fit. However, we have to consider the website is pulling their 'rumors' from hoopsworld and they havent been known to be the best source.
However, a S&T with Deng would be awesome.

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
Would love to have Deng on the squad but if they wouldnt put him in a Kobe deal why for Lamar. There is a guy on LG claiming to be an "insider" who says the Lakers have already offered Lamar for Deng and are really pushing for it. If we did get Deng we would have to sweeten the deal by taking back one of there bad C's and we know Dr. Buss is not trying to do that. (see Kenny Thomas) I like the trade but everytime I think about it I have this uncontrollable urge to take a blast of Crack.

This isnt really a credible rumor. Hoopsworld (red flag #1) heard that league sources (red flag #2) said Lakers are interested.
Reminds me of Boozergate.

I like this line of thinking from the management. PG is a position we need to stabilize and rather not sit back with the "Don't fix it if it ain't broke approach".

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
I like Loul Deng, it will be a nice fit if we can sign him up. Mitch the market has become a bit thin now so we better make a move. We either go after Loul or trade somebody to other team or sign a bigman in Francisco Elson. Mo Evans has gone to Golden state. We dont have enough 3 spot player to sign to and we need that 3 spot player. Now heres the scenario. If we are interested with Loul then we might trade Lamar Odom for him. It will be LO replaced by LD. There will be not much to lose if we do the deal although LO is a bit a good rebounder than LD. Now we can't signed LD if we wanted to keep LO in the purple and Gold robes. What we need to do is unload players for us to sign LD. First thing is trade VladRad and Luke plus Chris Mihm and the rights of Sun Yue plus Coby Carl to the Bulls for LD then we sign Elson to complete our cast. We can sign maybe 2 to 3 players to complete our roster. The main thing is to get LD to be a Lakers. With Deng with us we will have the height and the speed to put nightmares on other NBA teams.

Last I heard, Mitch was never actually in pursuit of Boozer. Wasnt Boozer's name in that list Kobe brought up when he listed some players management avoided when they made up excuses for every player? I think the list included Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, and Carlos Boozer. I cant remember teh rest of the players he mentioned off the top of my head.

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
Is it just me or would it be stupid for the Lakers to essentially decline a deal to get Deng/Hinrich since it helps Bynum tremendously in the future. We've never been a go for broke in one year team. It would be stupid to start now. Yes the bench may be half assed in the front court (Melvin Ely, Radmanovic, Mihm, and Kwame maybe), but hey you can't have everything.
It's not like the Celtics thought they had a great bench going into the year. They had crap. They made up for it eventually. Veterans do sign on. All you need is one P.J. Brown. It's not like Scott Pollard is any better than those guys I listed. Ya we may not have a Leon Powe but so be it.
We'd be fine with depth at the PG spots, Hinrich and Crawford would be fine as our backup 2s, and depending on if we keep Ariza, Walton/Ariza would be more than sufficient at the backup SF spot. We have a weakness at backup PF/C. So what it's better than having a gaping hole at SF where Odom may not fit and then get burnt to kingdom come by Pierce.

You guys are only looking at one story on that website. They have other rumours from ESPN.com and even InsideHoop. The website is pretty good and I like their articles esp. the one on Tex Winter.

Couldn't we also do something a little more appealing to Chicago, like Farmar+Odom just for Deng and then we go sign Delonte West to the full MLE. It's less expensive for us than Hinrich+Deng and it's just as effective.

Whatever it's not like Hinrich or Farmar are even better than West, but suit yourself. Names I guess are names.

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
The bulls just added Rose and won't try to get an "aging star" like LO...IF the bulls and the lakers really talk about a S+T for Deng then Bynum is the one the Bulls would ask for.
If matching salaries wouldn't be that hard/complicated then the Bulls could offer a nice package of Hinrich, Deng and Noah for Bynum, Vlad and fillters

I was thinking more like the Bulls resigning Gordon and trading Hinrich for salary cap relief along with Nocioni for Odom. They could later negotiate Odom's contract extension depending on the situation they are in after that.

Re: Lakers interested in Loul Deng
Why would the Lakers trade Odom for Hinrich and Nocioni? I'm really against that idea to be honest.
