IF Landry goes overseas who do the Rocket Fans want to get?

If he leaves here what I would do go after Josh Smith in a sign and trade or go after Houston own Emeka Okafor. That way if Scola trys to pull this kind of crap we wont be standing with pants around our ankles!!

Okafor is okay, but I think he'll want too much for our liking and too much for what he's worth. I don't keep up with his stats but isn't he injury prone? That's horrible considering he's going to one of the most injuried teams in the league. We should just pick up someone for cheap (harris, somebody's summer leaguer) and wait til we trade bjax, head, etc so financially we'll be flexible.

If we had any chance to acquire Emeka Okafor or Josh Smith, then we wouldn't care if Landry went overseas or not..

Why would we get Al Harrington when we already have Scola & Dorsey if Landry doesn't come back. We need to go after a backup center.

exactly. Sometimes I wonder if these people that post these threads even watch basketball and if so I wonder if they have any idea what a salary cap is. If it was possible for every team to get every player the off-season would be a lot more interesting. Josh Smith is getting offers close to the max, who are we gonna trade besides t-mac, yao, or half our team to get him in a sign and trade?

That's what we said about PG last year with Rafer after we got James and Francis. It would depend on who we give up but a veteren big like Al would help if Landry leaves, especially considering Dorsey's an unproven rookie.
Everyone keeps talking about backup C but who is out there? Harrington had to play a lot of C in Golden State and had to guard much bigger players and did a decent job at it from what I saw...

If I am not mistaken Scola can buy out his contract to go overseas. So there is a small chances that he could walk. So Josh Smith , Okafor, hell harrington would be welcomed additions. If we do lose Landry I think Morey will push for a trade know instead of waiting for the trade Deadline.

^^^Where did you hear that? That is not true at all and has been mentioned here.

Ok, I'll play along. Who do we trade for either of these guys? Remember this has to be an attractive package for them that is better than what other teams may offer. I think any discussion would begin with Scola and Battier and that is just to get the ball rolling. Then what? Draft pick, Donte Green, Bobby Jackson if the salary is ridiculous? Not sure it would be worth it at the end of the day when you slightly upgrade at one position while severely downgrading at another.

Same here. But I don't think the nets are going to let kristic walk and if so I doubt we could afford him. I think magloire would be perfect if he's healthy. He can defend and he can actually give you a couple of buckets down on the block. Skinner might be a possibility also. As for kwame, nah. He's not as bad as people make him out to be but a player with a low basketball IQ doesn't belong on a team like the rockets.
