from what ive heard its prince for artest plus a filler. I like it for the kings. Tayshaun is a much better fit next to martin than artest ever would be.

My mobile source spotted Prince at the Oakland Airport this morning.

Artest/Douby
for
Prince
I'd love to squeeze Maxiell or Johnson out of them though..
Ah yes, that could be the case indeed. It was a very rash signing that came out of the blue.

Still, I would like the deal, but I would LOVE to get Maxiell. Johnson is alreight, but Maxiell I would love to get.
Not really. For next year it does for sure, but we could still get under the cap for 2010 enough to land one max level player plus some other good players here and there, depends on how much salary is guaranteed to our next two draft picks. If we do trade for Prince I see Salmons being moved for a shorter deal. There would be just absolutely no need for Prince, Garcia, and Salmons on this team especially since Prince can't swing up to the 4 like Ron.
I would love any deal that involved one of our vet PF's and brought back a beast like Maxiell. I see this as a straight Prince for Artest/filler deal though.

Re: Any info on what the principles are in the Artest to Dtroit
Artest and Moore for Prince and Max would make sense.
Detroit really needs another center in order to compete next year, and there's not really time for both Amir and Max to get minutes at PF. I think Joe will need to decide which of the two he's higher one, because neither is big enough to play center.
What do you think?

I like Prince as a player but...I think Salmons/Garcia deserve a chance to start on our team. I don't want to go through another year of seeing Salmons come off the bench, ugh...
While I would like to KT/Artest traded for Odom (talent/getting rid of KT), I would rather see Artest in the East. Definately will be rooting for the Pistons if that happens (maybe they can meet the Lakers in the finals and destroy them just like the Celtics did). It would be awesome to see Artest finally get a ring.

Eh, get Moore out of there and put Thompson! That would be next years starting lineup, still skinny though.
We'd have a very long and tall lineup moving forward with a 7'1" C in Hawes, 6'11" PF in Thompson, 6'9" SF in Prince, 6'7" SG in Martin, and a 6'3" PG in Beno. Size at every position.

Oh yeah, he'd have to go. Hopefully he gets a chance to put up some numbers first. He wouldn't nearly have the value he is capable of attaining if he is utilized in the same way.

I'm sorry, but I just LOVE the size. You instantly created mismatches at EVERY position.
Then the next deal is Cisco or John to move KT. Watch.

In that case, yeah - Maxiell's game is adorable
SKZZZ wrote:I don't either, but I remember reading the other day about the Kings possibly considering not picking up his option for next year. Then I realized he makes over 4 million next year! That is a lot of dough for a 3rd big off the bench. He clearly isn't going to get time over Thompson, short or long run. With both Ron and Shelden off the books next year this would give the Pistons basically what I wanted...a ton cap space for 2009! Haha. Oh well.
But future-wise, Shelden would the back-up center... and should be above-average as a defender and rebounder, as well as having some offense.
These vets aren't going to be around anymore in the near future.

I really like the fundamentals of an Artest/Filler for Prince. Prince will work very well with our system.
Additionally, Prince has demonstrated that he is a WINNER. He has been very clutch in big games. Thus, he brings the winning mentality and the Expectation of winning to the Kings. To me, Prince has shown that he is a gamer.
Thus, we get a 26 year old Veteran (in the sense that his season goes at least to the Conference Finals every year) Winner.
I like that!

I don't know...If we really wanted to get rid of KT, it would be with Artest. Cisco/Salmons + KT is just not an attractive package for another team, IMO.

It is my sense that Prince too is a great defender. Seems with his height, he can take shorter players out of their game. Is it likely we would have Prince guard Kobe, McGrady and other dominating 2,3 position scorers?
Prince=Kobe stopper?
Prince=Kobe stopper?

Check your numbers again, Prince is NOT 26. He's 28, turns 29 around the all-star break. About 3 months younger than Artest.

Re: Any info on what the principles are in the Artest to Dtroit
Artest didn't exactly stop Kobe either.
Prince isn't the dominating and intimidating that Artest is, but he brings GREAT length, fast break defense, and very good perimeter defense.
On offense, we'd lose Artest's go to mentality, there simply wasn't other guy that handled the main spot better.
With that said, the rumor is more likely false than true.

It certainly is hard to believe. BK is really sticking his neck out on this one, on multiple boards too, so we'll see what happens.

It's been how long sense this deal got rumors and neither side has denied it... I'm beginning to legitimently believe it.
Can you imagine a guy on the "Kings" called "Prince" XD

IMO if it was a done deal like people said it would already be done. It might be being talked about still though.
