Who's Next To Go?

Post#1 » by Troubadour » Fri Jul 25, 2008 4:31 am

I left out Carl Landry because it would take away from the who guessing part of the game.

My pick is Ben Gordon because if he resigns with the Bulls, he will forever be a 6th man, something a player of his calibre does not want. Any trade opportunity would likely land him in a terrible city/situation. At this point in time, I'm sure Rome, Athens or Madrid look a helluva lot nicer than Memphis or OKC.

I'll rephrase:

Of the three, who's most likely to go?

None of them, they are too expensive for Euro teams. I would say that the next ones to go to Europe during this offseason are probably Vujacic and Krstic.

Olympiacos is offering Gordon more than Childress got.

Good players don't go to Europe. Just the crappy ones that teams in the NBA don't want.

Probably Nenad Krstic. The Nets stance with him was at most he was going to get a 2 year deal maybe a 3rd year team option or something of the sort at most from them... So they basically told him to go out there and come back with an offer sheet and the Nets will gladly match it if it's fair or work out a sign and trade if both teams can agree to something...

Well to make a long story short Krstic isn't getting offered the money he wants so I think he's long gone.

He basically comes from a war torn place, I would imagine a lot of his family isn't in the greatest financial shape just based on things I have read about Nenad in the past so this is one of the cases where I think you have to take the $$$ in run.

The one year rule the NBA has for high school players will start to bite them in the ass. These guys are going to start to head over to Europe instead of spending a year in a dorm room.

He's by far the best player to go to Europe this summer and he averaged 12 ppg.

Come on.

Who gives a **** if Sasha Vujacic goes to Europe.

I hope it's Sasha Vujacic  He's the only player that I hate more than Larry Hughes.

You forgot geriatric, bankrupt Scottie Pippen. Maybe Marbury will be the next star to go shine in Europe. He's really tearing it up in the NBA.

Again, this wouldn't happen if teams other than Memphis had money under the cap to spend. I still think it's a good thing that's a part of the evolution of the sport.
