This euro ball sounds like it has integrity and rewards selfless players for their team success. I like it...

No one here even remembers who won the MVP award 5 years ago and no one really cares.

Ahh, now you can kinda understand how the Olympics are seen in the US.

LeBron doesn't want to play their, he wants to win championships that will actually mean something.

LOL@ the coaching is "so far behind" in the NBA..LOL..

stop overrating the Euro leagues bro..the reason they run a more diverse offense, is because there isn't ANYBODY in the Euro league that can dominate an entire team like a Kobe or a Lebron..like a Wade, Garnett or a Duncan..like the best players in the NBA, that have to be double-teamed on most possessions..

Lebron's big financial future lies in being an NBA player, he's an NBA guy for life.

It wouldn't be worth it for a Euro team. Sure Lebron could be as big a star as a major soccer player in Southern Europe but he won't be a huge draw in Northern Europe. Beyond the salary is also the shoe money which is in the NBA. What we COULD see is a player like Shaquille O'Neal (for example), a worldwide celebrity play a meaningful contract into his forties. This would be akin to Beckhams MLS deal.

Although I don't see LeBron going over to Europe, it's not for the reasons anyone has said thus far.

LeBron wouldn't go to Europe for a couple of reasons:

1) He already is a "global icon" in the NBA, one of his career goals;
2) He is so egotistical, the NBA is the only place big enough for him;

As for the level of competition in the Euroleague, I think it is vastly under-rated. Just because you can't recognize the players in the Euroleague, it does not mean they are not solid players. Unless the Euroleague abandonned everything it stands for, I couldn't see LeBron averaging more than 35 ppg, let alone 60.

Rather than fearing the Euroleague, why can't we, as basketball fans, embrace it? If the NBA and the Euroleague were to set up a tournament showcasing the best teams from both leagues, I think the overall popularity of the NBA/Euroleague would grow exponentially.

P.S Us Euros aren't that bad.

The problem is deciding which rules to use. The international/European rules are different to the NBA rules.

If they made a compromise and just used the FIBA rules, that could work.
