Ruling on the Chil deal

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Sat Jul 26, 2008 12:03 am

Can ATL trade his right for a future pick?
If so, find a good match for a potential suitor that willpay him and interest him (west coast?) and trade him...

You can't trade the rights to a RFA. For him to be traded it would take a S&T

Well, we will have to try next year and if nothing on the ST market, renounce his rights.

The thing is that people act like we will have all this capspace to sign someone even if we do renounce Childress. The Hawks are going to have about $50 million tied into 8 players(assuming we re-sign Smith and keep Marvin) even if we renounce Bibby and Zaza. If we sign Kwame to a 2 year deal then that number will be even larger. We are better off keeping Chil's rights for now.
