Pete, I've said this in another thread a couple months ago, but you are the biggest big baby hater on the board. I usually think you are a voice of reason on the board and I tend to agree with you, but your hate on baby seems unjustified.

Hate? I really don't hate BBD. I think if he could lose 50 pounds he would be a nice prospect. I just don't think he was very effective last year. I could repeat my points about BBD but I think Pogue already covered that well enough. he is kinda a poor man's Walker out there right now.. Whereas Powe causes flash backs to Xavier McDaniel.

I like all the Celtics now. I think even Scalabrine gets a bit too much hate around here. The couple players I didn't like have been moved.

I can see where people might get the impression Powe is weak on defense. He does have match up problems against opponents centers. He's 6' 8" and his defensive PER was 26.1

However, he does very well against opposing PF with a defensive PER of 13.5. His differential when playing opposing PF is +11.3. That is simply huge for a second year man. By way of reference Garnett comes in around a +15 and Pierce comes in around a +10.

I think the weakness in the bigs is the backup center. There is no weakness in the backup PF. That's Powe's spot.

I think that Boston would be willing to give Powe 4 mill, but Powe's going to want 5 years.......

Return to Boston Celtics
