Hollins signs his QO

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sat Jul 26, 2008 1:21 am

Looks like we'll have Twiggy again next season.

I'm more than ok with that. For a million bucks, if we need to make room, we can cut him. But maybe he contributes next season and lives up to his athletic potential?

So this is roster spot 13 w/ roster #14 reserved for Weaver. I thought Hollins was a goner based on SL.

Does that include Mek?

Slightly off topic (how much discussion can Twigs re-upping generate anyway?), but why don't we offer Kristic 3 yrs/full MLE? It doesn't appear the Nets would match, he'd have to pass a physical and it's not like we can't use a good shooting big. Best thing nothing goes out.

No, I think it was more precognitive than anything.

So what do you think of Kristic?

I would love for us to offer the full MLE to Krstic. We need his size and skills, he's young and could be our starting 4 (or 5) with Okafor and provide iunsurance against losing Okafor after this season. OR it could give us the freedom to move forward with a sign and trade of Oak to a team like Denver (with a player or 2) to get Melo. I doubt Denver would do that.

In any case we still need a starting 4 and Krstic gives us that (or plays at center when needed). Supposedly Higgins says nothing gets done toward the 4 until Oak is resolved. Once again we sit and watch the river flow as the parade of boats sails past us. We end up at the ass end of the parade looking for a nice float still left, and all we get are the horse droppings.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He's going bald at a very fast rate and thinks bangs are somehow keeping this knowledge from the masses.

As a basketballer, he had a great start before getting hurt in 06-07 and a promising year before that. I would say the pending physical would be vital. This written, I fully expect Nenad to cash in overseas.

Hollins did field and track. It think he did all jump disciplines included triple jump. I don't remember exact disciplines, though.

Nenad Krstic has a two-year deal worth more than $5 million per year in place with a Russian team named Triumph and will sign there if the Nets don’t work out a sign-and-trade with another NBA club by midnight Monday. Krstic would prefer to remain in the NBA, and he would be able to return after a year should he go to Russia.

Full MLE for 3 years would do it.
