Re: Offer made to CJ Miles
I would have liked to have CJ but I was expecting the Jazz to match the offer. CJ is too talented for them to let him go and get nothing in return. He might be available 6 months from now via trade if he's still not getting playing time.
Quinton Ross is still available. He doesn't have upside or the flashiness that CJ Miles has. But Ross is one of the best defensive SGs in the league. He's a trainwreck offensively but he improves every year, he just needs a little work and a little confidence and he'll be fine on the offensive end, we don't need 5 scorers on the floor anyway. But he has the potential to be as good as or better than Bruce Bowen defensively. Ross takes pride in playing D, and he works his butt off. Sam Presti seems to be focusing on building a better defensive team. Since we missed out on CJ Miles I'd like to see them take a chance on Ross.

Re: Offer made to CJ Miles
I think he's vastly overpaid for what he's going to bring to the Jazz. Frankly, I don't know why we matched.
Hopefully KOC has a good reason.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

What is "KOC?"
Kevin O'Conner.
Not to make waves, however, could you (and everyone else, for that matter) not use initials? "KOC" could have been a typographical error meaning Oklahoma City. In fact, that's what I thought you meant. Thank you.
Wasn't me brother I don't like using initials either. I was just pointing out what the dude meant. If a Jazz fan uses KOC it's pretty easy to figure he's talking about Kevin O'Conner.

Utah Jazz Exercises First Right of Refusal on C.J. Miles
SALT LAKE CITY (July 15, 2008) – The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has exercised its first right of refusal on guard C.J. Miles’s contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.
Miles (6-6, 220, Skyline H.S. (TX)) has appeared in 120 games (26 starts) in three seasons with the Jazz, averaging 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 10.5 minutes per game. Miles appeared in 60 games (13 starts) for the Jazz in 2007-08, posting career highs of 5.0 points and 0.9 assists in 11.5 minutes per game. Originally selected by the Jazz in the second round (34th pick overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft, the then 18-year-old became the youngest player in Jazz franchise history.
Miles will be available via conference call in the Salt Lake Community College press room at 6:30 p.m. tonight, prior to the Utah Jazz game vs. the Dallas Mavericks in the finale of the 2008 Rocky Mountain Revue.

Radiohead: This is actually in support of what you said about not liking initials.
To all the people that INSIST on using initals (usually incorrectly called acronyms). YOU might know what you mean because you are using your area's local lingo, however, most people who are not in your area or who do not know a lot about it, have no idea what you mean.
If I told you to drive down the CEW, would you know what I meant by that? Think about it, please. It's called communication.

Hey Ballboy, stop making demands from people. They can use initials or write what they want (following the rules of course) you don't run the forum. If you don't know what it means just ask and move on.

I can't say I find initials as annoying as full words or sentences in capital letters or more than three exclamation points strung together.

The Jazz matching the offer to CJ Miles is the best thing to happen to you guys. He's all hype with a little bit of talent and zero basketball IQ.
