Name your top 5 for the NBA Scoring Race next year

I don't think that Dwight has a chance. He's just not a volume scorer.

I still think he'll lead the league is TS% but in terms of PPG, no chance he's top 5 with some of the chuckers in the league.

I don't think he'll get there, but I wouldn't rule it out simply because Dwight Howard scores SO freaking efficiently. He's still underutilized on offense in their system, which is compounded by the fact that no one on that team seems to know what re-posting is, which is why he finished 3rd on the team in FGAs. But even so he still finished the season averaging 21ppg on just 12 shot attempts, which is, frankly, amazing. If they get him to where a player like Yao is in terms of shot attempts, and he can maintain his same efficiency as he's had the last two seasons, he would be right there to challenge for that 5th spot.

I like Dwight Howard a lot. He's just not as skilled as a guy like Yao on the offensive end. Howard is smart to the point where he doesn't force the issue, and only takes good shots (see his redic efficiency). Until l he develops a smoother more refined post game, he's never going to take the amount of shots it takes to be a dominant scorer. Part of taking shots is being able to create them for yourself. Improving his ft shooting % will help him get a point or two a game added to his average too.

Neither of you were the first to mention Kevin Martin. I was.

Kevin Martin has an outside shot. He's scary efficient and there's nobody else on the kings to handle playmaking.

But seriously people, give Martin some credit. Or I guess he'll be another steal AGAIN in my fantasy leagues.

Wow, the big guys are really getting underrepresented. I think Dirk, Bosh, Amare, and Yao all have a very legitimate shot at the top 5, though they seem to be absent from nearly every list.

Its going to be a real tight race next year. I think the following players are very likely to average over 27 ppg: Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Melo, AI, Gilbert, Amare, KMart, Monta. I really don't know how it will turn out but if I had to guess:

1. Lebron
2. Melo
3. AI
4. Gilbert
5. Kobe
6. Amare
7. Kmart
8. Monta
9. Wade
10. Vince

I know people are going to think "Kobe at 5???" But I think Lebron will once again have to do most of the scoring, either Melo or AI will get traded, so they both will be primary scoring options again, Gilbert will go back to his scoring ways and maybe take too many shots, while Kobe's team is just getting better with Bynum so there's going to be alot of scoring from everyone on that team.

Last year was a low scoring year. Iverson was third with 26.8(?). I think now will be higher and I like that list(^) except that Wade is at 6th above Amare and Kevin Martin.
