Damp or Diop, who's your starter?

Post#1 » by Darren » Sat Jul 26, 2008 11:30 am

Damp is the better overall player.
But for a run-and-gun attacking scheme, Diop would be better starter.

Our annual Diop vs Damp thread.

I want to see Kidd/Diop in the preseason before I make an opinion.

I could really careless who starts because both will see similar minutes by the end of the game.

If Terry is our starting sg then diop needs to start because we are too liable defensively. If we have a more defensive minded sg then start dampier because he can score if he is wide open, diop is a terrible offensive player. Either way they will split time, but damp should be on the court with kidd since he is capable of scoring. Diop is pretty much worthless, we could have gotten plenty of people for the minimum who can contribute the same as him.

There isn't any debate in my mind, Damp starts. For a stretch last season Damp and Kidd had some good chemistry going. I expect to see them build on that this season.

I agree with the Jet comment above which is why Terry shouldn't start. Obviously Dallas needs a shooting guard because neither Jet or Stack at this point in their careers are good starting options.

I expect the Milwaukee Bucks to have a very good season, but on the off chance things fall apart I would expect Michael Redd to end up in Dallas and the Jet filling in at PG until they address the position long term.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Dampier should start, and then after his first 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes, Diop can come in, then after his 2 quick fouls, we can run with the Bass and Dirk lineup

Go centerless and just play Dirk Bass Rhodes Howard and Kidd in a run and gun

It doesn't matter one will get subbed in for another once that get in foul trouble like they always do. Dallas centers are like Texas Rangers pitching we cant ever get a good one !
