We're overloaded at the swing position, and having just matched Miles' offer sheet, odds are good there's no playing time for Almond in the foreseeable future. Really, though, I'm not sure what you guys would have to offer us in return that's comparable (for instance, I'd love to have David Lee, but obviously he's worth a hell of a lot more than Almond).

I don't know that you have a lot that we would like in return. Lee is a nice player and, even though few outside of New York think so, a potential star given the PT, so obviously a one-for-one swap wouldn't be ideal.

However, a deal for a guy like Harp, Millsap and Almond might work. NY may not extend Lee anyway, if all the "LeBron in 2010" rumors have any merit. Lee should get something in the 8-10m per year range, and that might destroy the needed flexibility to acquire LeBron, so getting some value for him now would be nice for them.

I love Lee, but please tell me you didn't just include Millsap in that deal. If we were to trade with NY, we certainly wouldn't give them Sap.

Harp + Almond + our 2010 1st(NOT the NY pick)(I'm aware of the restrictions, but for arguments sake) for Lee and I'd say hell yes.

No way we give up Sap in any deal to NY.

I agree! I don't think I would want to make any trades with NY in hope that the 2010 pick is as low as possible; involving especially Almond. I mean, we know that he can score, imagine Almond in Mike D'Antoni's system, all offense no defense; Almond would be a scoring maniac in that system!

Completely agree. Imagine Millsap on New York, he'd be every bit as good as Lee. Then adding Harpring and Almond?

I think Almond would be good fit in NY, and wouldn't make that big of an impact to affect their 1st round pick all that much. I think Almond could be a great scorer one day, but with the resigning of CJ theres just not much room for him right now.

If we could package Almond, Harpring and Collins and get Lee and Q back... I think it would be something we'd consider.

Q. Richardson is exp contract to help with resigning Boozer, and Lee would be a nice guy coming off the bench.

Lee's a much better FT shooter, but beyond that, if you inflate Millsap's stats to fit the 29 MPG that Lee played, the two's performances in 2008 are pretty comparable.

I have a hunch that Lee might have the better career, but they're close enough that I wouldn't do the deal straight-up, and certainly not if I had to throw other players in. Paul has a much more polished offensive game, even though David's nose for rebounding is just as good, if not a bit better.

Given the market that Lee plays in and the fact that he played more minutes last year, though, his value is doubtlessly higher than Millsap's. So it would take a pick or another player to get him. Ain't worth it from where I'm sitting.
