Series 34: White Sox Vs. Tigers

Post#1 » by m23uza1hem36 » Fri Jul 25, 2008 6:48 pm

@ Comerica Park

White Sox; 1st in AL Central (57-43) Vs. Tigers; 3rd in AL Central 5 1/2 games back (52-49)

Probable Pitchers:
Game 1: Gavin Floyd, RHP (10-6, 3.52) Vs. Nate Robertson, LHP (6-8, 5.69)
Game 2: John Danks, LHP (7-4, 3.03) Vs. Justin Verlander, RHP (8-9, 3.95)
Game 3: Javier Vazquez, RHP (7-8, 4.57) Vs. Zach Miner, RHP (4-3, 3.73)

Tigers Lineup:
C. Granderson, CF
P. Polanco, 2B
C. Guillen, 3B
M. Ordonez, RF
M. Cabrera, 1B
M. Joyce, LF
G. Sheffield, DH
I. Rodriguez, C
E. Renteria, SS

White Sox Lineup:

O. Cabrera, SS
N. Swisher, 1B
C. Quentin, LF
J. Dye, RF
J. Thome, DH
P. Konerko, 1B
A. Ramirez, 2B
T. Hall, C
J. Uribe, 3B

Note: Lineups vary from game-to-game I will update as soon as possible.

IMO this is the do or die, you get swept your down 8.5 games, your done for the year, you sweep/win the series, your 2.5/3.5 games back. Losing this series really is not an option. This is where we see how our players were respond under pressure, Cabrera, Miggy, Placido, Ivan, these guys need to step up. As long as pitching. It's great that we have Verlander pitching the middle game, he's just not hittable this last month (4-0, 2.25 ERA), it's also nice knowing that Rodney and Zumaya have come to play these last few weeks.

Nice start, 5 pitch first for Robertson.
1-0 in the 1st, what a break like Rod is saying.

After Dyes' homer in the 9th I didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

I got angry and swore a whole lot.

Jones MUST go; there is no other option. God we were right there, ready to be 4.5 back. Very frustrating

^^

The bigger point is it would have set it up for Verlander, the way he's pitching he wouldn't let use lose, I guarantee we would have won this series if we help on last night. I just hope we can get the next 2, tall order now in my eyes.

1-2 against the White Sox doesn't cut it, nor does being only 1 game over since the break.

Hope Zumaya's okay.
