Delonte West is trash, average at best. When actual legit players start leaving the NBA for Europe, then I'll be a little concerned.

Childress is legit, but I agree that it's of no concern right now. Childress would not have left if other NBA teams had been able to compete for his services. The Hawks were bidding against themselves and Chill didn't have any other options.

The best players in the world want to play in the best league (and it's not even remotely close). That's why the best young international players all end up over here. The 30yo Greek dudes who couldn't hack it in the NBA (Spanoulis) go back to the easy life of guaranteed PT against lesser competition. The top talent in the world wants to work to be great against other greats.

Sarunas is a giant baby.

For what it's worth, Paul Shirley has played a bit in Russia(Moscow specifically) and he said it was the equivalent of basketball hell, which is why he kept trying to make an NBA team for all those years even though Russia was paying him a hell of a lot more money.

Get rid of guaranteed contracts i say

You fail to understand. If the NBA got rid of guaranteed contracts there would be a flood of players jumping to Euro leagues.

2 yr 10 million for Delonte when Daniels got 20 million and thats his backup? Good for Delonte if he can get it. Really surprised no team have offerd him that already.

It's a gradual process.....the Euroleague teams are acquiring more money so they can sign these guys to hefty contracts. They are approaching very good players such as Deng and Childress, the latter of which is leaving the league. When will people realize that Euroleague is starting to get competitive. We wouldn't be playing preseason contests against their teams if they were complete slouches.

What are you talking about? Is "Daniels" Daniel Gibson? He got 21 million, but over 5 years. What do you mean "good for Delonte if he can get it?" What is it that teams should've offered him already?

Your whole post just confuses me lol

When do you think the Euroleague will pull a David Beckham and offer like a Kobe/Lebron something crazy like 50 million/ Season?

Do you think it'll ever happen?

If I was West, I would take the offer (as long as he can opt out after one year). He would be a bit better in Europe, I know their competition is huge, but it's still not the NBA. Let's face it: he won't win a title with the Cavs and if he plays in Europe for a year and wants to come back to the states, there will be more money out there. He can then try to get on a real contender, not a couple of decent players stacked around LeBron.

Cavs would still have his restricted rights, and I doubt his value goes up at all playing overseas against weaker competition at this point in his career.

He would be in the same boat when he came back, no one is gonna overpay him because a) He isn't good enough to overpay for b) The Cavs will match any reasonable offer anyways
