OT: PS3 Games

Post#1 » by magic1636 » Sun Jul 27, 2008 5:28 pm

Yesterday I had bought a PS3 from gamestop along with Resistance: Fall of Man. Besides MGS4 (which I will get next) what are some other games you would recommend?

I was in a rush so I just got resistance and I figured I would go friday and get MGS4. Although so far i'm loving resistance.

Uncharted (i would sell mine if we weren't so far apart lol)
Burnout Paradise
Ratchet & Clank
GT5 Prologue
Ferrari Challenge (coming up in the US, already out in Europe)

That's enough to waste a few buck methinks :)

No need for that, if he wants to play a tedious stop and pop shooter with amazing graphics he can do that on the PS3, buy Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. They are quite similair in a lot of ways, both games look amazing, have the same gameplay and both are short as hell. Uncharted has a better story though. It's a bit of Indiana jones rip off, but it's better then the GYAAA M^& F&*cker GONNA KILL YUOOO story of Gears.

Anyway to fully answer the dude here is my advice:

- Resistance: Fall of Men (good shooter, it starts slowly, but it really picks up in the second half, also good multiplayer).
- Call of Duty 4 (can't go wrong with this one)
- GTA4 (a real disappointment for me, not as good as San Andreas, but still a good game)
- Uncharted (see above)
- Ratched and ClanK Future (pretty good platformer)
- Oblivion (awesome RPG, 250 hours gameplay)
- Rockband (music games are all the rage now apperantly)
- Burn Out Paradise (best race game on the console)
- Soul Calibur 4
- GRID (pretty good race game)
- Gran Turismo Prologue (butchered version of GT, but at least it has a crappy online mode)
- Civilization Revolution (awesome awesome game...go buy this if you are in these type of games)
- War Hawk (surprisingly good multiplayer game)

Then buy the following PSN games:

- Pixel Junk Monsters
- Pixel Junk Eden
- Everyday Shooter
- Siren: Blood Curse (sooo good)
- Super Stardust HD

I guess enough stuff to play...not to mention how fricking awesome the game lineup of the next 6 months is, so keep that in mind.

alright thanks man. I got resistance and it is a damn good game. As for COD4, GTA4, and Oblivion for the 360. I'll be sure to check out the rest.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

2. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
3. Resistance: Fall Of Man

I've been a PS3 owner since launch and those are easily the top 3 games on the PS3.

Seems like you're on the right track with MGS4 and Resistance. Uncharted is a really good game as well.

I can tell you've never played gears before... The story isnt that short and Online Multiplayer is the best in the business. I, Personally have never played Drake the Dragon Slayer so i cant sit here and bash it but i have played the PS3 and if you want to Play games online you should get yourself a XBOX360 PERIOD... Sure online is free with ps3 but thats because it sucks, if a friend sends you a message you cant even see it without stoping your game and going back 2 the main menu everytime.. You also cant see what games all ur freinds are on :( MGS4 is a good game though.

LOL! Too bad the 360 breaks down about every other day........ They conveniently left that "minor" flaw out of their little video...... I will NEVER waste my money on a crapbox.

I have a PS3 as well, and Uncharted is a great game. I enjoyed Assassin's Creed as well. I already finished both of them, good games.

Now I'm playing Top Spin 3. That's an awesome game if you like tennis. The online mode is fantastic, as is the career mode.

I just bought GTA IV, but haven't played yet.

About the X360, it would be great if you didn't have to buy one every other month. The 3RLs are often and you won't be able to fix it easily with short money. The PS3 has its flaws, but it's a great and stable console, the online mode is very good and free. I play a lot of Top Spin and Fifa 08 online.

Oh you mean the red ligh they replace for free and extended everyone's warranty.... He has 6-7 points against the ps3 compared to the 1 issue with xbox 360. I'll take a 360 anyday and apparently the world has too. Xbox 360 is the highest sold console in the world followed by the wii and in last is the ps3.

Be quiet you ignorant Sony fanboy. If you had actually played Gears of War at some point, you wouldn't classify it as a "stop and pop shooter". It's the premier multiplayer experience amongst next-gen systems.
