I fully agree. Pay the man, it's not an unreasonable salary demand.
While I'm sure they can get some talent back in a S&T I don't think it'll make the team any better because of the defensive presence brought by Josh Smith. Edit-Although the one in my next post would I doubt Detroit would do it.
If they do trade Smith I'm pretty sure will be my last year giving any money to the ASG. I don't see paying $3500 a year to watch a team essentially be a farm club for real franchises. I got caught up in the hype of the playoffs when I should of played wait and see. And I thought the summer of 2006 was bad (Shelden, Speedy, Lo Wright).
As for Morris, I'm curious if he seemed more ready to contribute than Kwame Brown or if it is just a money thing. I can't hate on Morris at the minimum, but maybe if they ink both cheaply they can hedge their bets inside.
