Season Ticket Refund Policy?
If anyone has any information on season ticket refund policy could you please post it. Mr. Levenson if you still read the board occasionally, feel free to respond as well.
I know these are only rumors about Josh Smith being traded at this point, but I felt I should get prepared in case the lines are long.
TIA.

Don't worry, the Hawks will still be a good team after Josh Smith is traded.
Center - Al Horford
Power Forward - Lamar Odom
Small Forward - Marvin Williams
Shooting Guard - Joe Johnson
Point Guard - Mike Bibby/Jordan Farmar

If Josh Smith is dealt for much less value, I will not be attending a game this year.

Eww, wfiles Lamar Odom is one of the WORST returns we could get for Smith. HELL no. I'd like to keep this thread at the top, I'm definitely not going to a game if Smith leaves. I hope everyone else will boycott as well.

If Josh leaves, I'm not necessarilly going to boycott, I probably won't watch the games though because Josh Smith is one of the most fun to watch players in the game.

I know, and he's also one of the biggest impact players in the league and a bigtime key to the Hawks' success. I just can't believe, in a summer in which Sund/ASG considered resigning the Joshes as the TOP priority, are now on the verge of losing both. Obviously they lied to us. I literally get nervous when I load the forums everyday, I'm just expecting bad news and I don't trust this group at all. No S&T will net a good enough return of Smith's value. NONE.

If the Hawks are going to pay Odom $14 million then the Hawks might as well re-sign Smoove. It make no sense to take on one player contract that is huge and not pay Smoove that. They have to trade Smoove for two or three valueable players.

I'm in the same boat. I bought season tickets in a moment of weakness after the Boston series.

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
We need to pursue all of our options. If that means we can get better by moving Josh Smith we need to do it. However, it's sad that we are leaning towards moving Josh, because we will be on national tv this year, and yet thinking about moving our most exciting player is rather disturbing.

Well this is always true but this doesn't seem like action motivated by "getting better". If we could move Joe, Josh, Al, Zaza, or anyone to get better, sure do it. The fact is this is about one thing, money, ASG doesn't want to pay it and they are willing to risk losing games and even more importantly (from their perspective), fans.

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
The ONLY reason that the ASG would S&T Smith is because they are cheap. We are not going to get equal value in that case. So, it's pay Smith or trade him for lesser value. In that case, you pay Smith. Being cheap is the only excuse for not paying. I just can't believe this is real, I wish I'd wake up from a dream and he'd be resigned.
PHX could afford to S&T JJ because he was their 4th best player and we were offering a max contract. Neither is the case for Smith.

I definitely won't buy a ticket next year if Smith isn't in a Hawks uniform.

If all the hawks get out of josh is odom/Bynum and Farmar I'll puke and the hawks aren't even my #1 team. Odom is a pretty good player, will he resign with the Hawks, no. Bynum is overrated and farmar is a ok prospect, the hawks won't get any draft picks unless they're like 7 or 8 yrs down the road because the lakers traded all their pics to the Griz for Gasol.

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
I'm sure that I'm overreacting right now. I mean it's just a blog post saying that the ASG are considering trading Josh Smith. This could be just stray shots from an RFA negotiation leaked by one side or the other. Maybe a contract gets done after all. I realize a trade hasn't occurred yet. I just want to be prepared with my options if it does. There are very few trades that I think will improve the team and none that will make them more watchable.
No one has actually posted any refund info. I fully expect to have an email response from my ticket rep tomorrow saying that they don't offer refunds. We'll see.

I'd be rather shocked if they did offer refunds. There is a reason they want to lock you into that early

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
As I really figured there are no refunds, so you really have to trust team ownership to put a good product out there to sign on early. My mistake.
I don't know what's really going on in the negotiations. Maybe Josh Smith is asking for more than is being reported and is more to blame for an impasse. Maybe the team has really offered more than is being reported and isn't as bad as portrayed. I do know a contract isn't signed. What I can say is that they didn't act quickly and decisively handle the situation with a player they had sworn was a key to the franchise's future.
This summer sets a precedent. Regardless of how the Josh Smith situation works out should I have faith they will handle business next summer with Marvin and Bibby? Or the following summer with Joe? or the year after that with Al? Every summer they have the chance to mismanage their way into disaster. They make you decide on your tickets well before this gut wrenching period of wondering if they try to be competitive or blow up the roster. Well my lesson has been learned and I won't be going through that again. Congratulations ASG, you've driven me out of the arena which is quite the accomplishment considering that I renewed tickets after the 13-69 season.

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
If the Hawks gave refunds then they would probably lose a ton of their season ticket holders midway through the year anyway.
As Evil said, I think we can still keep Smith. You see this happen with guys and often they compromise with the team and end up resigning. What really worries me is that Sekou doesn't sound optimistic. He is almost always right.

I was a season ticket holder last year for the first time and had EVERY intention of renewing them this year but i WILL NOT buy any if they do not resign Josh Smith. I just can't believe this is really happening either. How in the world are we not resigning Smoove! This is ridiculous and we know we can't get equal value for him anyways. Just sign him already!

Re: Season Ticket Refund Policy?
It sounds like to me evil that the ASG doesn't want to make that kind of commitment to Smoove. IMO, they should be looking at moving Marvin before he asks to get paid because his structure is much more difficult.
You gotta think that bringing Woody back has something to do with this stand of the Joshes. I don't see them getting much better under his tutelage and now Smoove wants the chance to see if he would be happier elsewhere. This might help determine how Okafor gets structured as well.
And BTW, I was excited during the playoff games, but bringing back Woody did it for me, no matter how short the term. IMO, 2 wasted years over another coach who could have come in here and shown this young team how to win. I don't expect to attend any more than the handful of games I attended last year.
