Player opposites

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sun Jul 27, 2008 4:17 am

Who are direct opposites with the way they play?

Eg:

Adam Morrison is to Ben Wallace

Morrison plays offense without a lick of D and Wallace plays D without a lick of offense.

TJ Ford - Jose Calderon

Ford = extremely quick and athletic, can blow past any defender and make the defense collapse. Very undersized height wise. Best with the ball in his hands, mediocre outside shot allows defense to collapse. Amazing fast break player. Loves to be the star and have the ball at the end of the game.

Calderon = highly skilled player with mediocre athetic ability, but solid height for a PG. Great outside shooter that must be covered tightly at all times. Works best playing off the ball. Can't penetrate without a ballscreen. Likes to walk the ball up the court. Prefers to defer to teammates and be a role player.

similarites: both great passers and poor defensively (although for different reasons)

You guys should pick players that play the same position or a similar position. It's stupid saying that guys like Boykins and Yao Ming are opposites. Yao Ming is 2 feet taller than Boykins.

Kevin Martin and Shaun Livingston

Similarities- Body type, speed, and athleticism

Differences-

Livingston
-Great Passer
-Great ball handler
-Mediocre scorer
-Pass first player
-Poor 3 pt shooter
-Needs the ball to be affective

Martin
-Average Passer
-Mediocre ball handler
-Excellent scorer
-Shoot first player
-Great shooter
-Much more effective without the ball because of his ability to come off screens.

Luther Head and Kobe Bryant.

Differences: Kobe Bryant doesn't shoot 7% in the Playoffs.
