How exactly is someone supposed to just figure out your sorting method? Your lineup said "Championship Depth Chart," not "defensive player ratings" or anything of the sort. What, you want me to do research or something?

Ok, here's MY "Championship Depth Chart." I'll let you figure out what criteria I'm using, and criticize you for your lack of "comprehension" skills later.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here are your '09-'10 Champions, the four-pete Houston Rockets!*

1 - Battier / Francis / Rafer
2 - Scola / Bobby Jackson / Brooks
3 - Chuck Hayes / Gerald Green / Head
4 - Justin Williams / T-Mac / Novak
5 - Yao / Landry / Mutombo

Anyway, I'm not really trying to start a flame war with you, so I'll stop now.

*(I hope you get that reference to a thread a few months ago)

Again, If you don't understand that the 2 & 3 are interchangeable wing positions I can't help that. I guess you were befuddled w/ ESPN writer John Hollingers logic too. I don't believe putting Battier at the 2 and Tracy at the 3 and their backups in order behind them would perplex most Rocket fan's.

I am happy you now know Novak is a space clearing/shooting 4 like Matt Bullard was. I am happy you now know Mike Harris was instructed to lose weight so he can defend on the perimiter like Battier. I hope you agree we still need a young/tall/athletic/ C/PF to backup Yao -- hopefully Sean Williams. If you need any further understanding write to John Hollinger http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/mailbagESPN?event_id=7936 or send me a private message and we can explain things to you. You've been taken out, RocketsTerps Productions.... you sucker's.

Alright, dude. Is there really a need for self-aggrandizement?

As I mentioned, I'm trying really hard not to start anything with you, but you're being an ass.

K this thread seems to be getting derailed, so get back on topic.

It's very simple: signing Bonzi Wells would be a lateral move for this team. He's not going to be that 3rd scorer we envisioned (as he never really took ended up being much of one), he got traded for friggin Bobby Jackson, and he would only take minutes away from Greene. I think we should re-sign Landry, be patient with our current roster, and then look for a siginificant upgrade later in the season.

Agreed. Bonzi Wells is still on the market w/ little interest in his services for a reason.

Right. Re-signing Landry is, and should be, our priority. Afterward, I wouldn't object to picking up Bonzi for the minimum though. He played extremely well for a good stretch of games there in december and january.

Would Bonzi want to sign with us?
I actually feel sorry for hi he turned down a large sum of money thinking he would get more, then he signs for cheap and never gets a big contract..

Gosh yeah. Poor guy only got 2 million. It makes me sniffle immensely that his greed was so callously denied sation. The poor schlub might have to live like a regular person now :( :( :( (except without the requirement to work, assuming he's half smart)

We all know you can't feed your family on 2 million. Just ask Latrell Sprewell.

I know it's extremely hypothetical, but it's fun to assume anyway.

We traded Bonzi because Mike James's contract is ugly, and the acquisition of Bobby Jackson was vital for our guard rotation according to Rick Adelman.

We didn't just '"toss" Bonzi away. I guarantee you if Bonzi would've had a longer contract, he would've stayed. I figured we'd deal Bonzi at the deadline, makes complete sense, might as well get some value for a guy that won't be able to return unless we use our MLE or LLE on him(which i doubt he'll take the LLE).

Bonzi Wells had 2 bird years on him , meaning we CANNOT tap into our rights to re-sign without using either exception, thus he's a rental on us, and we might as well cash up some value. At that same expense of value, we unloaded a bad contract, and acquired a player that could have significant value this trade deadline. That's incredibly smart dealing by Mr. Morey, anyone who says we just tossed Bonzi away cause he "sucks", etc. is false....we did it because we knew we couldn't retain, so we might as well cash him in. It was inevitable at the start of the season, my fear was we were to keep Bonzi, let him having a good season, and then be unable to afford him and take a step back for the upcoming season.
