Will Asante be dealt?

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Fri Apr 27, 2007 11:32 pm

Well will he? I say no. Patriots have made some deals in the past on draft day. But to deal asante, for lets say a top 10 pick, would be a hard one to pull off.

Whats your gut feeling on the asante situation?

Unless Asante agrees to a smaller deal, we'll probably do the Washington slaughter deal. Springs and 6th overall pick -for- Asante and 28th overall pick.

If the redskins deal for Lance Briggs, than the smallest deal I can think of that Asante might accept is 6yrs for $58.3 million.

I can't see why Washington would do that deal. I think Asante will not be moved, atleast not during the draft.

I'm still hoping that someone in the top 10 is stupid enough to trade their pick for him. I doubt it'll happen, but...

I don't think he'll be traded.

He won't be moved. No one holds out after being franchised because it is leaving too much money on the table. He'll stay happy or not, and I think if he proves he is legit by having another strong year, they will offer him a long term deal.
