L.A. would offer Trevor Ariza+ maybe a 2nd or something.

Aaron Brooks or Donte Green are the only things of interest to me. I don't think either are available based on what the Nets have.

So what say you guys to a Williams-Ariza deal. Both have their limits. Ariza would be great in a system like yours and Williams could be a nice depth addition for us off the bench?

I personally love Ariza, but I don't feel it's enticing enough for my tastes. Only player on the Lakers I want is Farmar

^^^ 99.9% sure Gasol isn't available. When I talk about "only players I would want" I usually mean players I honestly realistically thought we could land.

I see you're a relist it's fun to think of crazy trades sometimes. And since Rod is the type to always wear black gloves (no fingerprints) they can actually happen.

As a Jazz fan I would love to obtain Williams for some defensive presence down low off the bench. Would you guys consider a deal like:

Kirilenko

for

Sean Williams, Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell

This is assuming that both KVH and Hassell are expiring contracts (let me know if i'm mistaken) since the Jazz need to clear space for Millsap, Boozer and Okur next season. Also curious if Hassell has any gas left in the tank and if he can play some 3 or if he is purely a 2 guard? Input appreciated.

Sorry Wolves fans but Sean Williams will not be traded to your pathetic franchise...
Thorn better not trade him , I don't care if Lopez is here....

Easy, PistoL. He came here in peace. Let's leave it at that.

Why would we want ariza?

I guess Simmons, Hayes, CDR, Yi (occasionally), Anderson, and Najera isnt enough.

Yeah we will take Ariza to ride the bench for S.Will that will get playing time.

Unless Sean shows some flashes more consistantly I honestly think he's at that bottom of our depth charts in our front court (of course this does not included Stro because he'll be wearing a suit). Right now I see Boone and Yi starting with Najera and Boone first off the bench at the 4 and 5, then Sean. Hell, if Sean doesn't sense the urgency of the situation, Anderson may start taking minutes from him thanks to Frank loving on a hard working kid who can stretch the defense. So in that respect, he wouldn't get a whole lot more playing time over what Ariza would be getting if he were here. I love Ariza, but even with all I said, I don't want him here unless we're getting a solid youngster with him (and I don't mean Sun Yue because he's friends with Yi lol).

^I expect most of the young guys to have to earn minutes (Ryan and Sean especially). Boone and Lopez will battle for the starting center position (Lopez wins by end of season IMO) while Yi gets the PF spot. Sean Williams will have to work to beat out Najera and Anderson, but I want that kind of competition in the frontcourt. This team needs a future all-star caliber PF/C by the time 2010 rolls around. Yi, Williams, and Lopez are the ones capable of that, and all will be on rookie contracts through the 2010-11 season. No reason to trade any of them IMO.

thats along the lines of the way I'm thinking of the situation...Sean is an asset...he needs time to develop, he could end being an X factor for us...and as the Nets monitor his progress we'll see the true players step up over the next couple years as Lurk pointed out...I pretty much agree player for player, with how you see our guys battling for time and position and ultimately how it will end up...

Nets competing for minutes will only benefit this team...as will utilizing players 1-12...hopefully, Frank allows our young guys to play through mistakes...we'll grow and progress faster this way (versus Frank's philosophy of benching certain guys for extended periods of time...)

^ I am with you guys. Another thing some one has to sit in IR. Not everyone is going to play. I say get ride of Swift, ager and KVH. Let the rest duke it out for PT. The losers get the IR seats.

KVH is basically not on the team. He'll be bought out or traded before the season starts (most likely bought out). We have 15 players under contract not including KVH.

But I do agree with you...Stro and Ager on the IR when the season starts until people get hurt.
