Our list of swingman/PF's:

Ryan Gomes, Craig Smith, Kevin Love, Al Jefferson, Mike Miller, Rodney Carney, Corey Brewer, Brian Cardinal

Not to mention McCants and Madsen who you have outgoing, in a deal that brings in another swingman that I dont think is as good as McCants (Graham) but im not sure as I dont watch him often and another sligtly undersized PF for a less productive but great lockerrom guy in Madsen. Humphries' contract also does not cooperate with our 2010 FA plan

Im not sure what the positive to this is.

Whether the value is O.K. is debatable, but the last thing the Wolves need to do is add another PF at the expense of getting poorer at guard.

I hate the deal because McCants is way better than Graham and MN needs to add another pure PF about as much as I need to add an extra inch to my already cumbersome and bulbous package

LOL, you guys are hilarious....
but Minnesota has a 2010 FA Plan ? Does anyone care to share what that is ?

I Agree though, this trade is not even close as i think McCants is a great scorer, but some people on the Raptors board think this is fair value

Step1. Free up cap space
Step2. Sign Free Agent

I know, it's complex.

The 2010 plan goes as follows:

1. Before the start of the 2008-2009 season, McHale will step down as VP of Basketball Operations in Minnesota handing the responsibilities over to the young, scrappy Fred Hoiberg.

2. McHale will then infiltrate Portland Trailblazer HQ dressed in a janitors uniform. He will then make his way to owner Paul Allen's office (shortly after he drugged PA) and inform Kevin Pritchard that he has just been fired, and appoints himself GM.

3. As his first order of business he deals Brandon Roy, LMA and a first round pick to his good friend Larry Bird for Jamal Tinsley. He then sends Oden to Boston for Patrick O Bryant and completely destroys the Portland franchise from the inside, doing friends Larry Bird and Danny Ainge, as well as the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise a huge favor.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

No disrespect, but i agree with the guy that just posted before me. Minnesota has to be one of the 5 most least desirable places to play. Both Marbury and KG bounced in their primes. The slightest chance will be that if Al Jefferson develops to be a top 5 big man and Randy Foye catches up to Rudy Gay's pace, then maybe someone may consider it. But almost every team in the league has a 2010 plan and becuase of this, teams like Minny and my Raptors arent going to land any of the huge FA's but instead end up paying 10 mil to the likes or Corey Maggette

KG NEVER wanted to leave - at least not officially. he mentioned it many times that he would have been here for the long haul but then again I'm sure he was happy to be traded.

Well I cant speak for you guys, and I cant even really speak for us, but you forget how much money talks. We have never had as much money as we will (likely) have come 2010 to throw at a FA. And while I agree that this isnt #1 on anyones list I still think we will land an impact player. Having cap-space allows you to facilitate trades as well. Look for a few big S&T deals to go down that offseason with teams not wanting to lose their stars for nothing. Im confident in our ability to make something happen

To be honest, we've had a harder time getting players to leave MIN (Cassell, Sprewell, even KG) than we've had keeping them (Marbury). I'm going to blame Gugliotta on Marbury's attitude and not MIN.

I didn't know New York could sign every free agent. Doesn't seem like that would work under the salary cap.

I respect fervent nationalism as much as the next guy, but all things considered, I think I`d rather live in Toronto than Minneapolis.

What's with the jabs at our neighbors to the north? This is a basketball forum, not a Prince > Celine Dion forum.

Word, see Brand, Elton.

But like WG mentioned, those teams junkyarddog57 mentioned can't sign all the free agents. Last time I checked, T-Mac and Grant Hill followed the $$$ signs to Orlando.

I don't pay close attention but isn't Canada on strike?
