OT: Proposed trade with ORL

Post#1 » by Cigamodnalro » Wed Jul 30, 2008 12:40 am

In light of the R. Artest acquisition, how would Rockets fans respond to something like this:

Shane Battier, Aaron Brooks, and Carl Landry for Hedo Turkoglu, Keith Bogans, JJ Redick, and a #1 pick?

Landry is a free agent. He'd have to agree to a sign and trade.

You can't package other players into a sign and trade deal. It would have to be separate smaller deals.

Thanks for the offer, but we need as many athletic 4s and PGs as we can get right now. Neither Redick, Hedo, nor Bogans can play the 4 or the 1.

Artest makes having Turk completely moot. Artest is Turk with defense. Plus, after the year he had last year, I just can't see Turk being willing be the 6th man like Battier will. Battier will embrace that role and shine much like Posey for the Celtics this year.

The only thing I could possibly wish for at this point is Landry, and even if we don't sign him, Morey has still given Rockets fans another offseason to be happy with.
