Hedo : 13.9
Prince: 14.0

Granted, most likely that eastern offer is from either Cleveland or Detroit, but the possibility of it being us did cross my mind. And I came up with the same offer you did...Hedo, JJ, 1st, + scraps....mainly because those are the only tradable assets we have (though I think Gortat might be sneaking into that area). I can't see ATL doing it, because Hedo won't be so cheap after this season...but was nice to daydream for a minute.
HoopsWorld is now saying that it would take these players to get J. Smith.
It could take a combination of JJ Redick, Brian Cook, Keith Bogans and Tony Battie to make a deal.

I don't see the Magic going for this and not many other teams can swing a deal as well because of cap's and what not.
It just looks like the Hawk fans may lose another player next year to what team in what country who knows.

If we had the opportunity to get Prince, I would take him before Smith. That being said...I do not think any offer with Hedo is as valuable as an offer Detroit would have made involving Prince.

statistically, the only area Prince is better in is BPG, and there is only a 3-4 minute discrepancies between the two...outside of these primary stats, the only real facets that Prince excels over Hedo is defense and athleticism...and for the record, Hedo has a profound edge in playmaking ability and a slightly better than slight advantage in shooting 3's...
so, I will play homer and say it, Hedo>>>Prince
I understand the argument, but I think even you can agree that stats are far from everything.
I am just saying that if you give me the choice, I am going to take Prince. Hedo does all he does with our offense run through him. Pretty much everything we did this season started or ended with Hedo. Prince is in Detroit and falls behind Rip, Chauncy, and Rasheed...arguably even McD.
Both are big play type of players in their own right but Prince does it on both ends of the floor. Prince is going to be able to get that defensive stop where Hedo might not be able to. IMO, Prince's offense if MUUUUUUUUUCH closer to Hedo's than Hedo's defense is close to Prince's.
I hear the phrase "he doesn't fit in to what we are doing" about a lot of players. Why does this matter right now. It is the offseason, the team does not have a game plan! We are trying to build a team around Dwight Howard. This should be done by getting players that play defense, can spread the floor, and provide something that we do not all ready have.
3 Point Shooters/Scorers- Nelson, Lee, Bogans, Redick, Lewis, Hedo, Cook
Defensive Stoppers: Pietrus (Unproven)
We did not have a problem scoring last season. We had a problem stopping other teams from doing so. If you have the chance to trade a scorer for a defender when their full talent level is pretty similiar...you should do it.
