i understand the win now mode... but with as fragile as tmac and yao are winning now is also a question... whos to say that you can even win now... gay could of played for them right away and contributed... he could of supplanted the scoring the rockets miss when one of the big two are out.. and in addition to this he could of been building for the future also...

i will give you that deonte is worse than gay possibly and that artest is definately better than battier... but whos to say that deonte wouldnt have been able to contribute this season.. but all the rockets do is put another aging wing defender to pair with thier two broke down superstars... it just seems like gamble after gamble... at some point why not keep a pick and let them develop with your current superstars and if you catch lightning in a bottle you can win now too...while building for the future

i dont know it just all seems like history repeating itself...
Summertime and the livin's easy....

Didn't Arroyo just hurt his leg? I don't think they'd take him either way...

Seems like a reasonable trade. Jackson has an expiring contract and can help and likely two late 1st round picks...Artest could bolt for nothing at seasons end. Better to make the deal now for all concerned.

Houston will be more challenging for sure.

It worked out great. Battier was a lock down defender who guarded Kobe as well as anyone and they were the best defensive team in the conference. You can't blame the trade for Yao Ming getting hurt.

Ron Artest makes the Rockets dangerous, but only if he ever decides to grow up and quit being a complete waste of the good people's oxygen, which isn't likely since today he went on a tirade about how Yao Ming just doesn't "get" ghetto. What a freaking moron. Glad the Magic are staying the hell away from that guy. He makes the Joker look perfectly sane.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Just remember.

He once actually willingly did this to himself;

So the Rockets are a better team with Battier (whom I appreciate a lot because of his defense) than they would be now having Rudy Gay?

Serious?

Did anybody read Artest's comments on the wiretrap. He is without doubt the biggest moron in the NBA. If I was a Rocket fan, I'd be a little worried about this guy's mental state.
