heh... just mentioned this in the other thread. He's 22 and putting up .285/.356/.462 in A-ball in his second Pro year. That's not terrible, I wouldn't rule out him being an MLB bench player or something down the road. In other words, Ed Wade gave up something of value for a useless reliever who he could've had for free when Hawkins cleared waivers in a few weeks.

Someone on another board said Baseball America had him as the 'Stros' 29th best prospect going into the season. Granted, Houston's farm system is pretty bad, but still. LATROY HAWKINS.
