JPo

Post#1 » by from_ro_to_dirk » Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:30 am

Not much of a thread worthy point here, but former Maverick great Josh Powell was released by the Clippers. he had some real real real solid games for them last year. I wouldn't mind picking him up on the cheap if we trade Bass anywhere. He'd basically fill his same role for us and is entering his 4th year and could be ready to step it up. I'd prefer him over an inexperienced rookie like Rhodes to take Bass' place (if we could only have one of them).

just throwing that out there. Maybe his availability will spur the Mavs to include Bass in some other deals, if they have been reluctant.

here are his game logs from last year.\:

granted his big games came when he was teh starting center when Kaman and Brand were out, but still, he DID produce in them.

If they move Bass yes, if not than rather they waste their time trying to find a SG that can play.

I'd definitely take him over Rhodes if Bass were traded.

well the clips have a plethora of Centers and power forwards, that would be why he was released no doubt. the guy looked strong in games I saw last year. remember, Bass was essentially released by the Hornets (when they weren't good) too.

Josh Powell is athletic, but his positioning is poor. He can score some but not crazily well.
I'm sure Fazekas plays better than him. I'd choose Elton Brown or Justin Williams over him.

I always laugh at the love for past mavs. It is great to get them back(Diop), but not critical (Juwan). Powell would be behind Juwan.
