Why the heck would Rodgers sign a contract extention with us if Favre came back? That is what gets me. All these people say "Favre doesn't care about the money, he just wants to play!" Yea, I bet Aaron Rodgers wants to play pretty f**king bad too! He has been riding the pine for almost 4 years now. Do you really think he will extend his contract to possibly sit for another 2 years? (while very possibly being the better qb)
You are probably right but it cant hurt to try. The Packers could slightly over pay and try to get him to agree to a contract. It makes sense from Rodgers' perspective because he gets a bigger contract and doesn't have to play a single snap. The Packers get insurance and get to keep Rodgers and don't have to deal with the Favre circus anymore.
It seems to make sense, but again, you are right, Rodgers probably also wants to play.
