Cleveland Vs. Detroit

Post#1 » by m23uza1hem36 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:23 am

Cleveland won the first game 5-0

Detroit won the second 8-5

Kenny Rogers sucks.
Our pitching sucks.

Sorry I fully post this, I've been busy this past week preparing myself for my upcoming football season.

Well, Sheff got an RBI extra base hit today, so I'll save my big I HATE GARY SHEFFIELD rant for a day in which he goes 0-something.

I don't anticipate a long wait.

Guh, if I wasn't too lazy there would be an I HATE NATE ROBERTSON rant here in place of this half hearted post.

If we had ANYONE else available to start this guy would have pitched his way out of the rotation by now...

JESUS EFFING CHRIST, LEYLAND! HOW MANY TIMES DOES SHOPPACH HAVE TO KICK YOUR ASS BEFORE YOU STOP PITCHING TO HIM?!?!?

And how many times does Thames have to strike out with men in scoring position before you'll pinch hit him?!?!?

If they lose this game I put the blame squarely on Leyland. That guy does NOT use the intentional (or even unintentional intentional) walk nearly enough. He puts WAAAAY too much faith in his pitching staff.
I lost track of the number of times I said, "Put him on...put him on...put him on...F**K!!!"

EDIT: And yes, I too am pissed that I am forced to stay awake to see the finish.

Yeesh, I don't know if I've EVER seen a team less capable of holding onto a narrow lead than this Tiger team.

A lousy defense and horrendous bullpen will do that, I suppose.

I'm in California, so I'll stay with this one to the bitter end without issues, but yeesh, this is frustrating.

I'm just happy to see the Tigers get back into this one, EVEN IF MAGS POPS ONE UP WITH TWO RUNNERS ON. DAMN'T.

I'm still pissed about the baserunning blunder by Curtis....

You lose close games by failing to capitalize on little blunders like the one by that Cleveland outfielder.

Ugh.

I think my sister would be better at the plate than Edgar Renteria this year. Earlier in the game Rod Allen said, "Edgar Renteria has been a clutch hitter..." and immediately I thought, "WHAAAAT?!?!?" then he finished the sentence with "...in his career." I said aloud, "In other words, before he got to the Tigers." I think Renteria is responsible for about half the runners LOB for the Tigers this game.

At least we aren't saddled with him long term.

Thats about the ONLY consolation I derive from the knowledge that we gave up value to get that clown.

Now that Santiago has actually learned hot to hit I'd say that unless Renteria goes ape s**t the rest of the season it will be time to call it a failed experiment and cut him loose. Santiago is every bit as good defensively.

Damn. About time. At least they won; I'd have been super pissed staying up this late to watch them lose. See ya boys; beddie bye time for me.

Fossom FTW!

I can't believe I've been given the opportunity to say that in a non-ironic way.

What an ugly game. To be fair though... two of Shoppachs doubles were not really because of him. One was a foul ball that the 3rd base ump called fair even though the replay clearly shows it foul. Another one, he reached on an error.

Our pitching looked absolutely horrnedous... but hey... at least we'll have Farnsworth. *gags*

Menacod, Jim Leyland does in fact walk, the Tigers lead the AL in intentional walks with 34.

Nether the less, the series has split 2-2 disgusting pitching again, 5-9 final score.

You all come to discuss the game when I put a bad game thread :(

Well that sucked....

Can't we do better than a split against the Indians?

Return to Detroit Tigers
