What is the plan in Suns land. I'm not trolling, honestly asking.
No PF
Thin at every position...
Capped out...
G. Hill is the starting SF...
Shaq and Amare are redundant...
Barbosa is miscast in this line up.
Diaw, what position does he play? Should he play?
Is the answer: Low end free agents? The best D-Leaguers?
Anyone know the plan?
Question?

Re: Question?
Amare's a natural PF, and Shaq and Amare complement each other incredibly well. Diaw should start at SF and play spot minutes wherever else he's needed. But yeah, we're thin, and we don't have any money to spend....

I agree he is the best candidate for starting small forward.
The problem is for a SF Diaw does have much shooting range. Doesn't create space for Shaq or Amare.
He doesn't break anybody down off dribble. Who on this team but Nash does that?
True Amare is a natural four.
He doesn't play well from the high post as a shooter or passer.
He often passes open 15 and 17 footers to drive. In the playoffs last year that was a charge, missed shot, or T.O.
I think he and Shaq are redundant because they are both around the basket guys 8 feet and in.
No 10-15 foot game in the clutch like Duncan, Garnett, Bosh, Rasheed, Brand, Jamison, David West, Boozer, Aldridge, Gasol. IMO

Re: Question?
I guess you have not watch much suns basketball Great. Amare has always been a PF, but was stuck being our center as our biggest player before shaq came. When the trade happened, he was destroying almost every PF in the league.
I personally do not think we start or even play Diaw at the 3. I think that hurts our team eventho too many on this board seem to be enamored about the last two games of the season. For some reason, he does not play well with Amare, and having shaq in there, boy, it is too crowded within the 3pt line, with no shooters and nash becomes less valuable to this offense.
I think the 3 is covered with Barnes coming on and Hill still can play. MD overplayed most of our guys and ran them into the ground. This year, that won’t happen.
What we need are shooters. Guys who can spot up and hit the 3, and Diaw really is not that guy at the 3.
Barbs is what he is, Diaw to me is a forward. No power in that forward, or a decent 3pt shoot to be a 3.
All I see this team doing is waiting and seeing what happens, and get a PG. They might try again to trade barbs or Diaw, but they have too look good for someone to take them off our hands.

Thank you, my oversight I didn't finish the sentence, it should have read no power foward depth.
Did not proof read.

Physically and contract wise Diaw should be the starting SF. Game wise I agree, he should not.
Barnes should be good as a starting SF. Hill and Tucker should provide depth.
I know Amare has always been a PF. My observations of his game stand as my opinion. He's a very good player. He lacks range which hurts with Shaq on the team.
IMO his overall impact on the game is not greater than the players I listed above, save one or two.
ONLY because he lacks CONFIDENCE in his jumper.
On another team Barbosa and Diaw would work perfectly. IMO there are enough good FA spare parts to piece together a nice squad here.
I agree the team needs a 6'5"-6'6" SG who can flat out score and defend...with the team as it stands.

Re: Question?
.....Hmmmm......
Amare is one of the best ranged power forwards in the game....
He shot 59% last year with at least half or more of those being jump-shots.
He was our leading scorer last year, both in points and percentage wise. He barely missed from the charity stripe and he has the best face-up game of any big man in the league. He has an impact my friend, trust me.
Amare has also never lacked confidence....

Re: Question?
And this little gem?
There are only two players on here that are better than Amare.... and it's not Bosh, Rasheed, Brand, Jamison, West, Boozer, Aldridge, or the ever soft Gasol......
On top of everything, I would tell you that Amare is more fun to watch than any two of these guys combined and has more potential.

ANSWER
To maximize profits, increase the value of the franchise and operate under the luxury tax limit while convincing the general public that they are doing everything possible to win a championship.
Needs be damned by the dollar, no matter how close they may be.
PS... a healthy Brand is atleast = to the current Amare
What ? Me Worry ?

We're talking about two different things.
My observation wasn't of potential or fun, I was talking of execution that I saw in the playoffs last year.
My statement wasn't who was better, it was that in the CLUTCH Amare lacked a 10-15 foot jumper.
Duncan, Garnett, Bosh, Rasheed, Brand, Jamison, David West, Boozer, Aldridge, Gasol, all have confidence in this part of their game in the CLUTCH.
If Amare adds this to his game he and Shaq can be of much more benefit on the court together.

Re: Question?
i have to say that i think stat has a great mid range game. once he moved to PF with shaq he displayed this very well. also talking about clutch. he hasnt ever had a chance to prove it. i mean the ball goes to nash or occasionally barbosa or bell if we need a three. but he never really gets much of the ball in the clutch anyway

Re: Question?
I still remember Amare's game saving swat on Brad Miller. Might not have been a score but I thought that was pretty clutch.
